Job description

Clinic Operations Lead — British Columbia

Vancouver, BC · In-clinic (Lower Mainland travel required)

At Juno Veterinary, we are on a mission to ensure every pet and Juno team member has the support they need to thrive. Our ultimate vision is to establish a stellar standard for the veterinary industry — the Juno standard of care. We are seeking to challenge a traditional industry by establishing this standard across Canada, not just for our Members and their pets, but also for our team of veterinary professionals, who are at the heart of everything we do. We are just getting started, and we cannot wait to meet you.

We are assembling a team of innovative thinkers across consumer-tech and veterinary medicine to build a new experience for consumers and providers. We are looking for someone who shares our vision and wants to be a major part of shaping the future with Juno. We are looking for someone who loves the idea of building something meaningful, contributing to the Mission, and being part of a growing company committed to making a positive impact on veterinary medicine in Canada.

Clinic operations is not an administrative layer at Juno — it is the foundation on which exceptional veterinary care is built and delivered. As we deepen our footprint across British Columbia, we are looking for a Clinic Operations Lead to own the performance, the culture, and the people across our Lower Mainland clinics. This is a role for someone who leads through people, earns trust in the field, and drives results with the kind of presence that makes a real difference.

Who We’re Looking For

You have spent the last several years leading leaders — not just managing people, but building the kind of managers who make their teams better every day. You have done this in multi-unit healthcare or veterinary environments where the work is specialized, the stakes are real, and the margin for poor leadership is thin. You understand P&L, labor planning, and the operational rhythms that separate a thriving clinic from one that is struggling. You have walked clinic floors, sat with care teams, and know the difference between a Practice Manager who needs a coaching conversation and one who needs something harder.

You are not someone who leads from a distance. You believe that visibility, presence, and genuine relationships are what earn trust on a frontline team. You are energized by building something — a region, a standard, a culture — from the ground up. The playbook here is still being written, and you are ready to help author it. You do not need everything to be figured out before you can move.

You are curious about veterinary medicine, or you already come from it. You understand what it means to operate in a care environment where the well-being of the team directly shapes the experience for patients and members alike. You know that Job Love is not a slogan — it is a metric, and you take it as seriously as you take the P&L.

This role reports to our SVP, Care and works in close partnership with our National Medical Director, People Team and Clinic Operations team. You are not just a regional operator — you are a key architect of what the Juno standard of care looks and feels like in British Columbia.

As Clinic Operations Lead at Juno, you will:

Clinic performance & operations

  • Own the performance of Juno’s Lower Mainland clinics — driving results across financial targets, labor management, member experience, and team Job Love metrics
  • Identify operational gaps across clinics — in people, process, and technology — and build, coach and/or advocate for solutions that create lasting change
  • Manage the P&L across your clinic fleet and partner with Practice Managers to ensure accountability, efficiency, and sustainable growth
  • Report clinic performance to the Clinic Support Centre and proactively surface opportunities and risks ahead of the curve
  • Support the new clinic opening process across your region, from recruitment through to being fully operational

Team leadership & development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Practice Managers across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland — building a team of A Players who drive Job Love alongside results in the teams they lead
  • Establish a culture of high performance across your clinics, where excellence is expected and people are genuinely supported to achieve it
  • Be relentless about Job Love in the clinic — understand what your teams need to thrive and build solutions that are sustainable and scalable
  • Meet regularly with your team to drive performance, build alignment, and identify opportunities across all functions of the clinics
  • Coach and motivate your Practice Managers to grow as leaders, not just to execute on today’s priorities

Cross-functional partnership & growth

  • Work closely with the National Medical Director to ensure alignment and cohesion between medicine and operations across all clinics in your region
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to identify and act on recruitment opportunities across your clinics, and manage labor planning across the fleet
  • Work with key functions within the Clinic Support Centre — Member Experience, Virtual Care, People Operations — to bubble up opportunities and define scalable solutions
  • Contribute to building the playbook for clinic operations across Canada, bringing learnings from BC that help the whole network grow stronger
  • Contribute to building the Juno community across all clinics and regions

What You’ll Bring

  • 5–10+ years of progressive experience leading leaders in a multi-unit healthcare or veterinary environment — you have managed Practice Managers or equivalent, not just individual contributors
  • A deep understanding of what it means to own a P&L, including financial targets, labor management, and overall operational efficiency across multiple units
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships quickly with clinic teams, medical professionals, and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to move between the detail of a clinic-level problem and the strategic view of what it means for the region
  • Comfort working in a high-growth, early-stage environment where things move quickly and the playbook is still being written
  • Genuine curiosity about or experience in veterinary medicine or a regulated clinical care environment
  • A willingness to spend real, regular time in clinics across the Lower Mainland — this is a field-first role

Our Promise to You

  • Full benefits package including access to mental health support, continuing education, and a free Calm Premium membership
  • A collaborative team who has your back and will welcome you as part of the pack
  • Time for you and your loved ones: great PTO, discounted Juno Vet services for your pets, and a compassionate environment where your well-being matters
  • The autonomy to build something meaningful — this is a high-ownership role with real regional impact and a clear path to growth as Juno scales
  • A primarily field-based role with regular connection to our Clinic Support Centre in Toronto

Interview Process

  1. Video screen and “get-to-know-you” with our People team (30 minutes)
  2. Video interview with our SVP, Care (45–60 minutes)
  3. Video interview with our National Medical Director and Clinic Operations Lead, Ontario (60 minutes)
  4. Video or in-person interview with our Head of People (45 minutes)
  5. Video or in-person interview with our co-founders & CEOs and CFO
  6. Final interview stage and offer discussion with our SVP, Care and Head of People

Juno Veterinary is committed to providing an equal employment opportunity for all candidates and employees. Our goal is to be inclusive, diverse, and representative of the communities where we work while creating an environment where every person can enjoy a positive and successful career. This commitment applies to all candidates and employees regardless of race, ethnicity, citizenship, creed, place of origin, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, family status, marital status, disability, age, and any other protected characteristic.

Requests for accommodation due to a disability or any other protected characteristic can be made at any stage of the recruitment process and throughout employment by contacting our People Operations team. If you have feedback on how to make our recruiting process more equitable or accessible, please let us know.
