The ideal candidate can move comfortably between executive strategy, technical architecture, and commercial opportunity development across cloud, data, AI, security, and application modernization.This is neither a delivery-only architecture role nor a pure sales position. The successful candidate will use their banking knowledge and technical credibility to shape executable solutions and expand initial engagements into broader programs and long-term relationships.Build trusted relationships with banking executives, technology leaders, enterprise architects, and delivery teamsLead strategic and technical discussions across cloud transformation, platform engineering, data, AI, security, and application modernizationTranslate banking business priorities, regulatory requirements, and operational challenges into credible technology strategies and executable programsProvide architecture-level guidance across Azure, AWS, and GCP, including hybrid- and multi-cloud environmentsShape engagements from discovery and solution design through proposal development, mobilization, and deliveryDevelop account growth strategies in partnership with sales, delivery, and practice leadershipLead executive workshops, architecture reviews, proposals, roadmaps, and strategic presentationsRemain actively involved in delivery to maintain client trust, support successful outcomes, and identify emerging prioritiesMentor architects, consultants, and engineers working within banking accountsHow do we define success for your role?You demonstrate BDO's core values through all aspect of your work: Integrity, Respect and CollaborationYou understand the organization’s structure, priorities, and people practicesInternal stakeholders describe you as positive, professional, and consistent in delivering high-quality workYou identify, recommend, and are focused on effective service delivery to your clientsYou share in an inclusive and engaging work environment that develops, retains & attracts talentYou actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplaceYou grow your expertise through learning and professional developmentYour Experience and Education:Deep banking experience, including technology governance, risk, compliance, and investment decision-makingExperience in one or more banking domains, such as retail, commercial, payments, lending, wealth, capital markets, risk, or financeBroad understanding of cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, integration, and application modernizationDemonstrated ability to assess complex technology environments and provide clear, practical directionStrong executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly with both senior executives and technical teamsAlthough this is not primarily a hands-on engineering role, candidates must have the technical depth to assess, shape, and challenge enterprise cloud solutions within large banking environments:Cloud Platform Architect-level knowledge of Azure, AWS, and/or GCP, including hybrid- and multi-cloud environmentsPlatform engineering and shared cloud services designed for use across multiple teams and applicationsCloud governance, landing zones, identity, networking, security, resilience, and observabilityWorking knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, APIs, and modern application delivery practicesAbility to evaluate technical approaches, identify risks, and explain recommendations to architects, engineers, and executivesPreferred:10+ years of progressive experience across banking technology, cloud architecture, consulting, or technology leadershipExperience working directly for a bank, advising banking clients, or bothPrevious experience in consulting, professional services, systems integration, or a technology-provider environmentDemonstrated responsibility for account growth, business development, or market developmentExperience leading major cloud transformation, platform modernization, or enterprise technology programs within a regulated bankExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing without direct authorityWhy BDO?Our people-first approach to talent has earned us a spot among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026 .
