Job description
Senior Immigration Law Clerk

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Immigration Law Clerk to support high-volume employment-based immigration matters for corporate clients. This role is responsible for preparing and managing complex nonimmigrant and immigrant visa filings, serving as a subject matter expert for the case team, and partnering closely with attorneys and client stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant case processing. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with U.S. business immigration, excels in managing complex casework, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, manage, and coordinate complex employment-based immigration filings from initiation through final adjudication.
  • Draft and review petitions and supporting documentation for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, PERM labor certifications, I-140 immigrant petitions, Adjustment of Status (AOS), Employment Authorization Documents (EAD), and Advance Parole (AP) applications.
  • Analyze case-specific documentation to determine eligibility and ensure compliance with USCIS, Department of Labor, and applicable immigration regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts by providing case updates, managing expectations, and responding to immigration-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies, resolve complex immigration matters, and address Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other government correspondence.
  • Monitor case progress, filing deadlines, visa expirations, and compliance milestones to ensure timely submission and proactive case management.
  • Review supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to filing with government agencies.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case records within immigration case management systems while ensuring confidentiality and audit readiness.
  • Mentor junior Immigration Law Clerks and Case Analysts by providing guidance on case preparation, documentation requirements, and immigration procedures.
  • Identify workflow improvements and contribute to process standardization, quality assurance, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Stay current on changes to U.S. immigration laws, agency guidance, and employment-based immigration policies.
  • Deliver exceptional client service while managing multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in U.S. employment-based business immigration.
  • Strong knowledge of employment-based immigration processes, including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, PERM, I-140, Adjustment of Status, EAD, and Advance Parole.
  • Experience independently preparing and managing complex immigration petitions with minimal supervision.
  • Thorough understanding of USCIS, Department of Labor, and employment-based immigration regulations and filing procedures.
  • Experience reviewing legal documents, supporting evidence, and client information to ensure accurate and compliant filings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with immigration case management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and document management systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, HR professionals, and corporate clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting large corporate immigration programs across multiple industries.
  • Previous experience mentoring junior team members or serving as a subject matter expert on complex immigration cases.
  • Familiarity with workflow optimization, quality assurance processes, and operational best practices.
  • Experience utilizing reporting tools and case metrics to prioritize workloads and improve efficiency.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and productivity in a fast-paced legal environment.
