As a Registered Practical Nurse, General Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital, you will broaden your experience managing adults with acute and complex medical and cardiac conditions, including patients admitted from the Emergency Room, transferring from Critical Care or Coronary Care units, or recovering from cardiac procedures like angioplasty and pacemaker procedures.
You are a self-aware, knowledgeable practitioner, adept at applying the nursing process to enhance patient care, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of patients and their families. We are a 24-bed unit with a mix of General Internal Medicine and Cardiology patients primarily requiring medical management for their acute illness that include congested heart failure, pneumonia, COPD, cancer and related complications, gastro‑intestinal and other disorders. Our nurses work within an inter‑professional team structure and maintain optimal nurse‑to‑patient ratios across shifts.
