Step into a senior leadership role where your technical expertise, strategic mindset, and ability to inspire high‑performing teams will shape the future of mining and resource development projects. As an Experienced Engineering Manager, Studies, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams through complex study phases, guide critical project decisions, and deliver innovative solutions that support sustainable growth for clients across Canada and beyond.

Our Resources subsector within WSP's Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) group partners with industrial and mining clients to deliver world‑class studies, engineering, project management, procurement, construction support, and EPCM solutions. From early‑stage evaluations through execution, you'll play a key role in advancing some of the industry’s most challenging and impactful projects.

Your Impact

  • Direct the preparation, integration, and quality assurance of engineering deliverables, ensuring technical excellence and consistency across all disciplines.
  • Provide strategic leadership and informed decision‑making on complex engineering, project delivery, risk, and operational challenges.
  • Drive engineering planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and execution strategies to achieve project objectives safely, efficiently, and profitably.
  • Foster strong client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring study outcomes align with business objectives and project requirements.
  • Champion continuous improvement, digital innovation, and modern engineering execution practices that enhance project delivery and team performance.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineering professionals while building an inclusive, collaborative, and high‑performing team culture.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and technical quality, proactively managing risks and identifying opportunities to improve project outcomes.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Mining, Chemical, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation registered in a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering experience within mining, heavy industrial, or resource sector projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and study execution for large, complex projects.
  • Extensive experience across the EPC/EPCM project lifecycle, including study development, detailed engineering, construction support, and field engineering activities.
  • Strong understanding of engineering governance, project controls, risk management, quality systems, and project execution methodologies.
  • Experience leading or supporting the development of NI 43-101 and/or SK1300 technical reports is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to deliver innovative engineering solutions, build client relationships, and mentor engineering professionals at all levels.
