Job Description

Role Overview

The Director, Product Solutioning & Go-To-Market, Visa Direct Canada serves as the market lead for Visa Direct product solutioning, commercialization, and growth strategy in Canada. The role is responsible for translating Visa Direct global money movement capabilities into market-relevant solutions, go-to-market strategies, and client value propositions that accelerate adoption across financial institutions, fintech's, corporates, merchants, and ecosystem partners.

Working closely with Canadian Sales teams, North America and Global Visa Direct organizations, and cross-functional stakeholders, this individual will shape market strategy, support complex client engagements, influence product priorities, and drive commercialization of Visa Direct card, account, wallet, domestic, and cross-border payment capabilities in Canada.

The successful candidate combines deep payments expertise with strong strategic thinking, commercialization experience, and client-facing solutioning skills. They thrive at the intersection of product, sales, and strategy and are comfortable leading in a highly matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Market Product Strategy & Solutioning

  • Own and execute the Visa Direct product solutioning and go-to-market strategy for Canada.
  • Identify emerging client needs, market trends, regulatory considerations, and whitespace opportunities.
  • Partner with North America and Global Visa Direct teams to localize product capabilities and influence roadmap priorities.
  • Translate Visa Direct capabilities into client-ready solutions across remittances, disbursements, account-to-account payments, wallets, and business payments.

Product Commercialization & Go-To-Market

  • Lead commercialization efforts for new Visa Direct products and enhancements.
  • Develop value propositions, solution narratives, and client-facing commercialization materials.
  • Act as the Canadian subject matter expert for Visa Direct and money movement innovation.

Sales & Client Solution Support

  • Partner with Specialized Sellers and Account Executives on strategic opportunities.
  • Support complex client engagements, RFPs, and business development pursuits.
  • Participate directly in executive client meetings as a trusted advisor.
  • Support deal structuring, corridor expansion, endpoint enablement, and solution optimization.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Client Services.
  • Support launches and post-launch optimization.
  • Advocate for product enhancements and market feedback.

Thought Leadership & Market Development

  • Represent Visa Direct in client and industry engagements.
  • Monitor industry and regulatory developments.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Canadian and North American leadership teams.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience within payments, banking, fintech, money movement, or related industries.
  • Experience in payments, financial services, fintech, money movement, product commercialization, product solutioning, or related fields.
  • Experience working with financial institutions, fintech's, payment providers, or digital commerce ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • Deep understanding of domestic and cross-border payments, disbursements, remittances, wallets, and digital money movement ecosystems.
  • Proven success in product solutioning, commercialization, go-to-market strategy, or product management.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting consultative sales engagements and executive-level client discussions.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience developing client-facing materials, commercialization plans, and thought leadership content.
  • Strong project management capabilities and ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.
  • Experience with Canadian financial institutions, fintech's, processors, or ecosystem partners preferred.
