The team

The Dais is a public policy and leadership think tank at Toronto Metropolitan University, developing the people and ideas that advance an inclusive, innovative economy, education system and democracy for Canada. Our name, pronounced day-es, means ‘raised platform' and reminds us that real change only happens when we lift new voices and ideas.

The Dais is built on the proud legacies of the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship and the Leadership Lab at TMU. Since 2015, the Dais team has worked across Canada and internationally to develop new ideas and better leaders, resulting in measurable change in economic, education and technology policy, and thousands of people whose lives have been changed through our leadership programs.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Partnerships, the Junior Partnership Analyst will provide project delivery support for assigned projects across all work streams at the Dais. This includes providing administrative and analytical support to ensure the successful completion of the projects.

Other Key Responsibilities

• Provides organizational and implementation support for business development and process improvement initiatives.
• Provides general administrative support to the team, such as coordinating with vendors, organizing meeting logistics, coordinating meeting agenda and notes, and scheduling interviews.
• Prepares the initial drafting of proposals, partnership documents, and related strategy documents.
• Assists in the development of proposal tools, and preparation of project information and statistics, which may be existing or may need adapting or refining.
• Gathers qualitative and/or quantitative information of local, national and international scope and summarizes key themes and provides analytical support
• Tracks various projects against the plan, and project expenses.

Qualifications

To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:

• Completion of a post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline, including training in one or more crafts, e.g. policy + government, AI policy, entrepreneurship policy, skills policy, social policy, quantitative research, economics, data science, qualitative research, futures, human centered design.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills.
• Strong logical reasoning, analytical skills and intellectual curiosity, gathering and synthesizing information from variety of sources.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners, and to work with a high degree of independence.
• Knowledge of qualitative research tools, e.g., jurisdictional scans, case study research, literature reviews, and expert interviews.
• Knowledge of key issues relating to innovation and entrepreneurship in Canada and an understanding of the Institute’s mission.
• Computer proficiency, including the use of the Microsoft Office and Google Suite of products.
