Business Performance Improvement consultants help clients in the areas of finance, operations, people and change. Our consultants work with Protiviti’s clients, who are typically among the world’s leading companies. As a consultant, you collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions to complex business problems these organizations face. Business Performance Improvement consultants will experience a variety of projects. Each project experience is designed to fuel your curiosity, build capability, drive meaningful impact, and prepare you for the next career level. Consultants learn alongside experienced leaders and advisors to develop a strong understanding of business processes and build technical skills in general risk areas. Consultants compile and analyze data and document findings and communicate insights that contribute impactfully to client engagements. Through interaction with client and project team personnel, consultants develop professional relationships that are grounded in trust, supporting exceptional client service. A successful consultant manages time and priorities effectively, takes ownership of assignments, and contributes impactfully to collective team results.

With each project, you receive hands-on training in a supportive, high-performance environment and interact with leaders across our practice. Talent Managers will assign specific project experiences that support career growth, your skills, and the needs of the business. A network of advisors will help you navigate challenges and celebrate milestones. Business Performance Improvement consultants are hired into one of four different areas, including:

• Finance Performance Management: Provides custom solutions to help finance leaders address their current challenges and explore opportunities for continuous growth, delivering innovative solutions and supporting finance as a forward-thinking, strategic partner to the business. At the core, our methodology aligns people, processes, and technology to drive efficiency, productivity, and transformation, enabling change and creating value for the entire client organization.
• Financial Reporting Remediation & Compliance: Supports companies in navigating complex financial reporting situations to reduce their risk of non-compliance while limiting exposure to financial restatements and other costly non-routine situations such as restatements, mergers, and IPOs. Protiviti’s team proactively monitors new accounting rules, alerts clients to changing requirements, and assists with addressing complex accounting or reporting challenges.
• People & Change: Focuses on the human side of transformation by helping companies with the people, talent, and skills components of their business. We assist organizations in developing differentiated employee experiences to better attract, retain, and engage talent. We also help organizations enable sustained behavior changes to support large-scale initiatives.
• Supply Chain & Operations: Supports companies in driving outcomes by reducing cost, improving efficiency, reducing risk and executing operations across their complex business functions from Engineering, Source, Make and Deliver through industry-leading practices and innovation.

• Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Project Management, Supply Chain, or other business majors)
• Visa Status: All applicants applying for U.S. job openings need authorization to work in the United States for Protiviti without sponsorship now or in the future
• Graduation Status: Must be within one year of final graduation at the time of internship
• Experience solving problems using AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools (i.e. Microsoft Copilot, GenAI, etc.)
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills and innovation to client engagements across various industries
• Technical proficiency aligning to assigned capability area

HOW WE WORK

Protiviti practices a hybrid model, combining in-person with purpose and remote work to best support excellent work, connection and collaboration. This model creates meaningful experiences for our people and our clients while offering a flexible environment. We encourage thoughtful choices about where work happens – making decisions that best support client outcomes, team effectiveness and learning. The requirements will vary by client, project, team and other business factors. Our people work both in-person in local Protiviti offices and on client sites, which can include local or out-of-state travel based on our projects and client requests and commitments.
