Job description
Lead financial operations as an Accounting Manager at Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. This pivotal role focuses on accounting practices, financial reporting, and team leadership in a hybrid work setting. As an Accounting Manager at Algonquin, you will oversee general accounting and financial reporting for Liberty Utilities operations. Your expertise will guide the month-end close process, compliance measures, and audit support while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork within your finance department. You'll collaborate closely with various teams, driving continuous improvements in efficiency and service delivery. Key Responsibilities: • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes • Ensure timely financial statements and management reports • Review journal entries and account reconciliations • Drive improvements to close performance metrics • Support regulatory filings and rate applications Requirements: • Bachelor's degree and CPA designation required • Strong experience in financial reporting and controls • Knowledge of regulatory accounting practices • Skills in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel • Proven ability to develop high-performing teams Using your technical accounting and leadership skills, you will enhance Algonquin's financial operations, contributing directly to its mission. #J-18808-Ljbffr
