As a Business Analyst II, you will play a crucial role in supporting Data Retention and Disposition (DRD) remediation activities and enterprise data governance. You will bridge the gap between compliance requirements and operational execution by analyzing data, documenting requirements, and manually executing data disposition and evidencing processes. In this role, you will be expected to balance independent technical and analytical deliverables with active stakeholder management across the organization.

Responsibilities
Data Governance & Compliance: Support overall data management and DRD remediation activities, ensuring all data is maintained in accordance with enterprise policies, standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Data Analysis & Procedures: Perform data analysis, assess and document DRD requirements, and assist in developing standardized Data Management and DRD procedures.
Asset Management & Execution: Support the identification, inventorying, and cataloging of existing data assets, while executing manual data disposition and evidencing processes.
Project & Risk Support: Track timelines, identify and escalate project or data risks and issues, and ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective working relationships with peers and partners, managing multiple stakeholder relationships to support personal and team deliverables.

Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements
Data Governance: Proven experience supporting data governance, compliance, or data management initiatives.
Tools & Platforms: Advanced proficiency in Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
Project Experience: Solid understanding of project management fundamentals, specifically tracking project timelines and driving risk identification/mitigation.
Data Analytics: Hands-on experience with Excel reporting and data analysis, including comfort with manual execution steps.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of managing multiple stakeholders effectively.
Independence: Strong ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive deliverables with minimal oversight.

Nice-to-Have Requirements
Financial Services / Banking Experience: Previous experience working within a FI or banking environment.
Regulatory Compliance: Deep understanding of data management controls, compliance frameworks, and data regulatory rules.

Summary
Our team is currently recruiting a Business Analyst II for a 12-month contract on behalf of our client, a premier organization located in Downtown Toronto. Working in a hybrid model (4 days onsite), you will join a collaborative project team focused on strengthening data management initiatives across Enterprise Compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong governance and data analytics experience to partner with key stakeholders, address data retention and disposition gaps, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
