What is the opportunity?

DBCST Global Payments Tech team is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain SWIFT messaging solutions for Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) operations. This role requires deep expertise in CLS, CLS Manager, SWIFT MT and MX message standards, combined with full stack development capabilities across front-end and back-end systems. The successful candidate will play a key technical leadership role in ensuring seamless integration, compliance, and optimization of RBC Capital Markets SWIFT messaging infrastructure.

Job Description

DBCST Global Payments Tech team is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain SWIFT messaging solutions for Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) operations. This role requires deep expertise in CLS, CLS Manager, SWIFT MT and MX message standards, combined with full stack development capabilities across front-end and back-end systems. The successful candidate will play a key technical leadership role in ensuring seamless integration, compliance, and optimization of RBC Capital Markets SWIFT messaging infrastructure.

What will you do?

  • Develop and enhance full stack applications supporting CLS FX messaging workflows, including user interfaces, APIs, databases, and middleware components
  • Design and implement solutions that comply with current and emerging SWIFT standards, CLS tools (CLSNet, CLS Manager). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, operations, compliance, and infrastructure to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and deliver scalable solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to CLS netting, SWIFT message processing, integration failures, and system performance bottlenecks. Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and establish best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation
  • Participate in CLS and SWIFT upgrade projects, ensuring timely adoption of new formats and features across enterprise systems

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Minimum 7+ years of software development experience with demonstrated expertise in full stack development (front-end, back-end, and database technologies).
  • In-depth knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards, including MT and MX message formats, ISO 20022, and message validation protocols; experience with payment systems, financial messaging, or settlement operations. Solid understanding of APIs, RESTful services, and asynchronous messaging frameworks. Knowledge of financial compliance, regulatory requirements (such as AML, sanctions screening), and security best practices in financial services
  • Experience with CLS or other settlement systems. Familiarity with CLS Manager GUI, SWIFT ISO 20022 migration initiatives, or other emerging payment standards
  • Experience in Linux, along with strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, combined with experience in cloud platforms and microservices architecture
  • Technical expertise in full stack development and SWIFT messaging standards, strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, excellent communication and collaboration skills, project management experience, attention to detail and commitment to code quality, ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. SWIFT training certification or equivalent hands‑on SWIFT messaging experience
  • Agile/Scrum development experience in fast‑paced, regulated environments
  • Experience with C++ development
