Position Overview

Our client, an established custom residential builder in the Greater Toronto Area, is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the construction and renovation of high-end custom homes.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 7–10 years of site supervision experience specifically within the luxury custom home and major residential renovation sectors. This position is best suited to a hands-on construction professional who understands the level of workmanship, coordination and attention to detail required when delivering one-of-a-kind homes for discerning clients.

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to subdivision or production homebuilding will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily on-site construction activities for high-end custom home builds and major residential renovations.

• Oversee projects from site preparation and structural construction through interior finishes, deficiencies and final turnover.

• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, consultants and inspectors to maintain project schedules.

• Review construction drawings, specifications, architectural details and project documentation.

• Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, building codes, safety requirements and quality standards.

• Monitor the quality of workmanship and immediately address deficiencies or deviations from project requirements.

• Develop and maintain short-term construction schedules and coordinate upcoming trade activities.

• Conduct regular site meetings and communicate project progress, scheduling concerns and site conditions to the Project Manager and ownership team.

• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure required labour, equipment and materials are available when needed.

• Track site progress and identify potential delays, design conflicts or constructability concerns before they affect the project.

• Maintain a clean, organized and professional construction site.

• Manage site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, safety documentation and change-related information.

• Maintain strong working relationships with homeowners, architects, designers, consultants and trades.

• Oversee project closeout, deficiency completion and homeowner turnover.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7–10 years of construction site supervision experience.

• Significant experience delivering high-end custom single-family homes and substantial residential renovations.

• Experience managing complex architectural details, premium finishes and customized construction requirements.

• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, building codes and health and safety regulations.

• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.

• Established relationships with quality residential trades and suppliers within the GTA are considered an asset.

• Strong scheduling, organization and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

• Comfortable working directly with homeowners, architects, interior designers and consultants.

• Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle.

• Relevant construction education, trade certification or Gold Seal certification is considered an asset.

Compensation

The expected starting salary is approximately $100,000, with flexibility depending on the candidate’s experience, project background and overall suitability for the position.
