Senior Financial Analyst

Overview

We are currently searching for the Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning Department. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for Regulatory Reporting, CDIC management, Audit preparation, Accounting and Taxation, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepares monthly and quarterly regulatory financial returns (including but not limited to BCAR/LR/LCR/NCCF) and submits them to OSFI (Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions), Bank of Canada and Statistics Canada in timely manner;
• Reviews the updates from regulatory bodies, analyzes the impact on the bank, and shares the findings with all relevant stakeholders within the bank;
• Leads the development/mapping for reports prepared within Bankhive system, reflecting the regulatory policy update and communicates with parent bank’s development team
• Conducts UAT testing and validates all updates are properly implemented, as follow-up
• Reports any discrepancy within data source and resolves the cases with investigation
• Drives the issue remediation with respect to financial disclosure and regulatory returns;
• Prepares weekly EWI (Early Warning Indicators) for key financial parameters and investigates for the root cause on any warning factor;
• Leads FSS (Financial Supervisory Service in Korea) regulatory return preparation;
• Assists in compliance reporting.

CDIC (Canada Deposit Insurance Corp) Management

• Manages bank’s CDIC (Canada Deposit Insurance Corp) activities such as Differential Premium and Return on Insured deposits calculations and collaborates with internal stakeholders for DSR testing;
• Reviews bank’s internal procedure on-going basis and maintains them, aligning with up-to-date by-law and guideline;
• Leads the development/mapping for reports prepared within Bankhive system, reflecting the regulatory policy update and communicates with parent bank’s development team
• Liaises with CDIC for the inquiries on behalf of the bank, as necessary.

Audit Preparation

• Provides support to the external auditors on interim and annual audit;
• Prepares CAP list and acts as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders;
• Prepares documentation for regularly scheduled internal and external audits.

Accounting & Taxation

• Supports monthly official Trial balance;
• Participates in composition of annual report, as assigned;
• Supports daily closing position monitoring for the bank
• Supports data preparation for income tax (federal and provincial) and indirect tax return

Other Duties

• Prepares and contributes to ad-hoc analysis, deep dive-in, and executive presentations for senor leaderships, as necessary.

Qualification and Skills :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
• Master’s Degree and/or Professional Designation (CPA/CFA/FRM or in-progress) is an asset.
• Experience in banking industry (finance/credit/risk and others) is preferred.
• Previous regulatory reporting exposure is preferred.
• Advance skills in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint)
• Excellent communications skill for English and Korean is a must; both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage complex processes and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizing ability and pay attention to detail with accuracy
• Ability to meet the tight timeline with minimal supervision
