Youll work in a fast-paced environment to ensure Capital Markets Risk Managements models continue to perform at the highest standards. As a Senior Market Data Analyst youll work on applying and enhancing methods of assessing market data integrity automating regular procedures and promoting timely data analysis. Youll work with the wider Capital Markets Risk Management team to enhance and document our data models and help define requirements for our strategic market data platforms.

Daily Market Data IntegrityYoullproactivelyensure thatmarket riskdatais captured in CMRMs systems in a complete errorsexistyoullwork with Risk Managers to understand the impact andappropriate resolutions and with Solutions teams toimplement protection against that data received from internal and external sources are properly capturedprocessedand delivered to downstream systems.
Ad-hoc Market Data reviews Youll perform analysis on available historical data using a variety of techniques and clean or enhance the data available where required. When new risk factors are introduced youll assist in the research and introduction of these factors including the process of introducing new vendors where required
CommunicationYoullwork toidentifyimpactful data movements and adjustments record these clearly and to communicate these changesand theimpact on risk calculationsto the risk data issues areidentifiedand resolvedyoullhelp trackagreeresolutionandacquirerelated approvals.
Documentation and GovernanceYoullwrite concise and specific procedure instructions as well aspreparingdetailed governance documents to describe decisions that control critical day to day providing daily summaries of production dataissues andhelp provide ad-hoc data reports as analysis of new and alternative sources of data.
Automationand Projects-Youllhelp improvethe automation of regular processes and controls with a focus on enhancement of existing reduce operational risk and increase efficiency whileretainingcritical human decision making and define the requirements for changes to our Market Datasystems andperform UAT testing on enhancements prior to production.
Controlsand GovernanceYou understand the importance of effectiverisk management through operational stabilitydocumentationand will follow CIBCsgovernanceprocesses andrecommend improvements to Control procedures asappropriate.
Who you are
You bring strong capital markets and technical knowledge. You have a strong understanding of market and credit data as well as Capital Markets products including Money Market FX Commodities Equities Credit Derivatives Futures and OTC products. You also bring knowledge of key risk concepts such as VaR Monte Carlo simulation basis etc. You have a solid foundation in statistics time series analysis and financial derivatives with strong technical proficiency in SQL Python and Excel.
You have a degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics physics statistics computer science or mathematical finance / financial engineering. Its an asset if you have CFA or FRM accreditation.
