We are currently recruiting for a Manager, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) - a high accountability leadership role responsible for the design, execution, and continuous maturation of our national HSE program.

Reporting to the Director, HR, this role owns the transition toward ISO standards and ensures that the Company’s safety culture is "first-in-class" within the dock and door industry. The ideal candidate is an execution-oriented leader who builds from the ground up, ensuring absolute alignment and consistency across all branches. By leveraging the expertise of field-based Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and partnering with General Managers, this role ensures that safety is not an external requirement, but a core operational strength that emanates from within every level of the business.

Key Accountabilities:

National Alignment & Culture Leadership by:

• Owning the development and rollout of a unified HSE management system that ensures national consistency and full alignment with ISO standards.
• Driving the change management required to move the organization toward a high-performance safety model, ensuring that "first-in-class" safety is understood and adopted by every employee.
• Ensuring that the safety culture is internalized within the branches, with General Managers held accountable for a culture that is proactive, transparent, and built on shared values.
• Leading the strategic evolution of HSE programs, ensuring they scale with the business while maintaining the highest standards of execution.

Technical Integration & SME Partnership by:

• Establishing formal feedback loops with field-based Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure safety protocols are technically sound and respected by those performing the work.
• Facilitating incident investigations that treat field technicians as partners in the process, ensuring their technical expertise leads to systemic improvements and preventative actions.
• Ensuring that every new process, tool, or safety standard is "stress-tested" by the field before national rollout to ensure practicality and buy-in.
• Taking full ownership of the Company’s performance on national contractor management platforms (e.g., ISNetworld, Avetta), ensuring our technical excellence is reflected in our compliance scoring.

Execution & Performance Monitoring by:

• Designing and managing a "ground-up" safety monitoring program that focuses on high-risk activities and provides leadership with a real-time view of branch safety health.
• Overseeing the delivery of orientation and training programs that are technically rigorous and elevate the professional standing of our field workforce.\
• Translating complex HSE data into actionable insights, identifying trends, and proactively addressing gaps in alignment or consistency across the regions.
• Serving as the professional lead for all regulatory interactions (Ministry of Labour, WSIB, CNESST), ensuring the Company is positioned as an industry leader in safety and compliance.

Environmental & Operational Integrity by:

• Defining and enforcing practical environmental standards for the handling of industrial waste and materials, ensuring the Company exceeds regulatory and customer expectations.
• Leading a rigorous internal audit schedule to ensure all branches are consistently "audit-ready" and fully aligned with ISO and national requirements.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• 7+ years of progressive HSE leadership experience within a trades-based service, construction, or industrial environment.
• Proven track record of building HSE programs from the ground up and successfully leading organizations through ISO (45001/14001) implementation.
• Deep expertise in OHS legislation and a demonstrated ability to drive compliance in a mobile, high-cadence field service workforce.
• Exceptional leadership and change management skills, with the ability to build credibility with both senior executives and field-level specialists.
• Experience managing safety across multiple provinces, including a clear understanding of the nuances of Québec (CNESST) requirements.
• Post-secondary education in OHS; CRSP or CHSC designation is highly preferred.
• Accountability: Owns the results and ensures the business is aligned with the national safety vision.
• Execution-Oriented: Focused on the "how" and "when," ensuring strategy translates into field-level action.
• Collaborative: Works as a primary partner to GMs, ensuring they have the tools and support to lead their teams safely.
• Industry-Focused: Driven to make the Company’s safety program the benchmark for the dock and door industry.

Total compensation range: $95,000 ~ $125,000 commensurate with experience.
