What will your typical day look like?
The Counsel - Employment Law is a pivotal member of the legal team, responsible for providing employment law support for both members of the Employment group and internal clients and stakeholders. This role operates at the intersection of legal, regulatory, and business strategy, ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws regulations, and policies.

Work You'll Do:

  • Review and advise business leaders regarding employment law risks implicated by proposed firm communications, publications, training modules, and other firm documents.
  • Evaluate and respond to subpoenas and court orders requesting company records and information in compliance with established protocols, federal and state law and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Deloitte Global's employment-related documents, including regular review and revision to ensure continued compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Analyze new U.S. employment laws and developments to help ensure continued compliance.
  • Advise leaders regarding Deloitte Global's use of non-employee contingent labor and/or independent contractors in dozens of jurisdictions across the globe
  • Assist with dispute resolutions, internal investigations and audits in relation to employment matters.
  • Provide counsel on litigation matters, restructuring, reductions in force, and international staffing agreements.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness in the way that Deloitte Global leverages staff and personnel around the globe.

About the team
Global General Counsel provides legal guidance and expertise to Deloitte Global, the broader Deloitte organization, and our business leaders. We advise on regulatory, claims, and corporate legal matters, as well as additional issues that may pose novel or unique situations.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or equivalent law degree from a highly regarded law school.

Years of Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years as a practicing attorney, with demonstrated experience advising clients in employment laws at a major law firm or in the legal department of a corporation, professional services organization, and/or governmental agency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating various employment agreements and policies related to employment matters.
  • Familiarity with dual employment and transfer of liability issues in the US and around the world.
  • Excellent creative legal thinking and sound judgment while working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed and international organization.
  • Proven track record of managing stakeholder expectations and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent cross-cultural communicator who can use appropriate (and varied) interpersonal skills with Deloitte member firm and Deloitte Global leaders to provide legal and strategic counsel and guidance.
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills and extremely strong verbal and written communication skills. Curiosity for learning, interest in technology, AI, and innovation and developments in employment law.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $156,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
