What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC’s Global Transaction Banking (GTB) business is an innovative vertical within the bank, focused on delivering leading-edge solutions for corporate, government and institutional clients. Our mission is to enable growth, capital raising, and investment across North America and key global financial centers, positioning CIBC as the preferred Capital Markets banking partner.

The Director, Product, Global Transaction Banking will play a key role in the growth and development of our transaction banking products and services, serving as an important point of contact for current and prospective clients. This role requires subject matter expertise in transaction banking, including correspondent banking, cash management, payments, and liquidity solutions for corporate and institutional clients. The Director will advocate for and ensure CIBC maintains a market-leading, relevant offering, working with cross-functional teams to build and implement differentiated solutions. Responsibilities include product management, contributing to product development, and educating both the market and the firm on transaction banking and the continued growth of our offerings.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.

How You'll Succeed

  • Drive product growth - Leverage your product knowledge to drive product growth and associated revenue growth across Global Transaction Banking client segments, including corporations, institutions, and public sector clients.
  • Deliver competitive solutions - Deliver market-competitive payments offerings, including cash management, payments, and liquidity solutions, and translate client needs and market opportunities into scalable solutions in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Manage product evolution - Manage client and product evolution to maintain and enhance economic viability, while aligning product and sales activities to support business strategies.
  • Monitor trends and optimize performance - Monitor market trends, including regulatory requirements, and act on strategic opportunities or risk trends affecting the business. Optimize resource allocation to support business priorities and outcomes.
  • Build strategic relationships - Market the group with core clients and business partners, maintain senior-level relationships with vendors, industry partners, and stakeholders in Canada and internationally, and liaise with teams across Capital Markets and CIBC to optimize efficiencies.
  • Advance strategic initiatives - Partner with cross-functional business, product, and technology teams to advance the organization’s transaction banking product agenda, support the rollout of strategic product initiatives, and execute large, complex initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Expand product capabilities - Advance new product capabilities and market expansion initiatives, including the launch of innovative transaction banking solutions in key jurisdictions.

Who You Are

  • You have the expertise to lead in this space. You have a degree or diploma in business or accounting, and a Product Management certification is preferred. You also bring 10+ years of progressive experience in transaction banking, cash management, payments, or related capital markets, along with extensive knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • You bring strong product, technology, and delivery experience. You have a solid understanding of payments infrastructure, capabilities, and end-to-end operational processes. You’ve also led large, complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external delivery partners.
  • You drive continuous improvement. You can establish key processes where none exist, lead design and development activities, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • You are a strong communicator and relationship builder. You bring strong interpersonal and presentation skills, communicate emerging issues and proposed solutions clearly, and build trusted relationships through respect and authenticity.
  • You act like an owner and work collaboratively. You thrive when you're empowered to take initiative, deliver results, and work with others to turn strong ideas into meaningful outcomes.
  • You’re curious and forward-thinking. You love to learn, bring strong business judgment, and understand how your work can make a difference today and tomorrow.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.

What CIBC Offers

At CIBC, your goals are a priority. We start with your strengths and ambitions as an employee and strive to create opportunities to tap into your potential. We aspire to give you a career, rather than just a paycheck.

  • We work to recognize you in meaningful, personalized ways including a competitive salary, incentive pay, banking benefits, a benefits program*, defined benefit pension plan*, an employee share purchase plan, a vacation offering, wellbeing support, and MomentMakers, our social, points-based recognition program.

  • We cultivate a culture where you can express your ambition through initiatives like Purpose Day; a paid day off dedicated for you to use to invest in your growth and development.
  • Subject to plan and program terms and conditions.
