  • Oversee payroll processing through external vendors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review and approve payroll outputs, validating calculations and resolving discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, filings, and reporting obligations
  • Lead year-end payroll activities and regulatory reporting

Payroll Accounting & Financial Reconciliation

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes related to payroll
  • Investigate and resolve payroll variances in partnership with Finance and vendors
  • Ensure payroll data integrity supports accurate financial reporting and forecasting

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary owner of global payroll vendor relationships
  • Drive accountability with vendors on timelines, accuracy, and service delivery
  • Partner with Finance on payroll funding, approvals, and reconciliation
  • Collaborate with People Operations to ensure accurate employee data and transactions

Audit, Controls & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain strong payroll controls and audit processes
  • Ensure all payroll changes are supported by approved workflows and documentation
  • Support internal and external audits, including documentation and variance analysis
  • Monitor payroll risks and implement mitigation strategies

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Support ongoing Dayforce payroll optimization and configuration
  • Standardize global payroll processes while respecting local requirements
  • Build and maintain documentation for payroll processes and controls

Leadership & Ownership

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for global payroll across the organization
  • Provide guidance and support to People Operations team members involved in payroll inputs
  • Drive accountability and clarity across payroll workflows and responsibilities

Qualifications

Here’s what you need:

  • 5–8+ years of global payroll experience, including multi-country payroll oversight
  • Strong experience managing external payroll vendors across multiple regions
  • Deep understanding of payroll compliance and statutory requirements
  • Experience with Dayforce or similar global payroll systems
  • Strong understanding of payroll controls, audits, and risk management
  • Ability to operate independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting EMEA and APAC payrolls
  • Experience working through payroll transformations or system implementations

Salary:

The base salary for this role is $120,000 CAD to $140,000 CAD per year. The total compensation package may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
