Our client, a well-established food manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst, Supply Chain to join their Finance team. This is a strategic business partnering role that combines financial planning, cost analysis, and operational support to help drive performance across manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Working closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams, you'll provide meaningful financial insights, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability, and play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and cost optimization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys partnering with operations, influencing business decisions, and making a measurable impact within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operations, Warehouse, Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, Health & Safety, and Continuous Improvement teams to strengthen financial performance and cost control.
  • Lead daily and monthly manufacturing cost reporting, including expense tracking, labour productivity, inventory reconciliation, inventory losses, and variance analysis.
  • Analyze manufacturing and supply chain costs to identify trends, improve efficiencies, and support operational decision-making.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses related to production, inventory, and operational performance.
  • Support capital expenditure tracking, standard cost updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain KPI dashboards that provide visibility into operational and financial performance.
  • Recommend inventory control strategies that improve working capital while minimizing inventory losses.
  • Coordinate and lead semi-annual physical inventory counts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, reconciliation, and appropriate inventory valuation.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting for plant expenses, headcount, inventory, and manufacturing costs.
  • Partner with plant leadership, regional finance, and operations teams to provide financial insights that support strategic business decisions.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a collaborative finance professional who understands manufacturing operations and enjoys translating financial data into meaningful business recommendations.

You'll bring:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory, production variances, labour productivity, absorption, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • The ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and influence operational improvements through financial analysis.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively across finance and operations teams.
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on financial support in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive financial analysis experience.
  • At least 3 years supporting finance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Background in cost accounting or an Accounting degree is considered an asset.
  • Currently reside within commuting distance of Scarborough, Ontario.
  • Able to work onsite approximately 3-4 days per week.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

In addition to a competitive salary, our client offers:

  • Target annual performance bonus
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits
  • Paid top-up for Pregnancy, Parental, and Compassionate Care leave
  • Annual wellness allowance
  • Employee recognition programs
  • Career development and advancement opportunities

All applications are reviewed by real people - we do not use AI or automated screening tools in our recruitment process.
