The Director, FRM Analytics is responsible for advancing Scotiabank’s global Financial Resource Management (FRM) capabilities by developing analytical frameworks, performance measurement tools, and strategic insights that optimize the use of financial resources across the balance sheet, including funding, liquidity, leverage, collateral, and capital. This role partners closely with Finance, business lines, senior bank leadership, and teams across Treasury to improve decision-making, balance sheet optimization, and resource allocation while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Develop and enhance frameworks to measure, attribute, and allocate the costs of financial resources (capital, funding, liquidity, leverage, etc.) across products, clients, and businesses.

  • Expand and evolve Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) methodologies to incorporate broader economic implications, including regulatory capital and return expectations.

  • Lead the development of FRM analytical infrastructure, data capabilities, and performance measurement tools.

  • Design and implement KPIs and reporting frameworks that enable end-to-end balance sheet performance measurement.

  • Partner with business lines and senior management to align strategic and portfolio decisions with financial resource constraints and economic considerations.

  • Develop analytical toolkits that support pricing, transaction analysis, portfolio optimization, and strategic decision-making.

  • Drive integration between FRM and FTP capabilities to ensure consistent pricing, allocation, and optimization of balance sheet resources.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Treasury, Finance, and business stakeholders by providing actionable analytics and strategic insights.

  • Collaborate across Treasury and Finance to build enterprise-wide understanding and adoption of FRM concepts and frameworks.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Treasury, Financial Resource Management, Risk Management, Banking & Markets, or a related function within a major financial institution.

  • In-depth knowledge of balance sheet management, liquidity, funding, leverage, capital management, and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP).

  • Advanced analytical, quantitative modelling, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, complex analytical and strategic initiatives.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives and business leaders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable business insights.

  • Strong understanding of banking regulations and the financial services industry.
  • Coding and data science capabilities, including experience with automation, advanced analytics, and machine learning/AI techniques is an asset

  • Expertise in financial markets, banking products, and enterprise resource optimization is strongly preferred

  • Experience building enterprise analytics platforms, KPIs, and performance measurement frameworks is an asset

  • Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives across Treasury, Finance, and/or Business Lines is desirable
