Hybrid Work Arrangement

At CDA-AMC, employees participate in a hybrid workspace arrangement that allows for flexibility and enhanced work-life balance. This position follows a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 2 days onsite, though this requirement may vary based on business and operational needs.

Primary Focus

We are seeking to fill a current opening on our Finance team. The Senior Financial Analyst provides essential financial analysis and insights to support leadership decision‑making, optimized resource allocation, and the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial data.

What do the daily responsibilities look like?

  • conduct first-level review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, identifying trends, variances, and potential issues impacting accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting
  • proactively analyze cost centre performance against the budget, identify potential variances, and recommend forecasting adjustments to optimize resources allocation; collaborating with the Controller to develop clear, actionable insights for leadership decision‑making
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information, identify discrepancies, and facilitate timely resolutions to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial analyses
  • review reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation prepared by the Finance team
  • prepare the monthly Salaries and Benefits allocation journal entry, ensuring accurate distribution of costs across programs
  • on a regular basis, as required by management, perform an in-depth review of timesheet data and compare them to the budget, flagging discrepancies and potential adjustments
  • participate in the development and review of the organization’s annual budget, providing analyses and historical trend information to support decision‑making
  • prepare and analyse quarterly reports for external parties in compliance with funding requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
  • prepare accurate audit documentation and supporting analyses
  • analyze existing financial processes toidentifyinefficiencies, recommendsolutions, and drive continuous improvement
  • review the weekly payment run, ensuring accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • provide back-up support to the Payroll Specialist during absences, ensuringtimelyandaccuratepayroll processing
  • preparead hoc reports and conductin-depthanalysesto support data-driven decision-making.

Is this the right role for you?

The Senior Financial Analyst will likely have:

  • a postsecondary education in a relevant area such as business administration or commerce, or a related area of study, with 3 to 5y ears of relevant experience; additional related experience may serve as a suitable equivalent for completion of postsecondary education
  • aCPA designation or actively working towardcertification
  • experience reconciling general ledger accounts,performingvariance analyses,andpreparingand reviewingjournal entries
  • advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel,including complex formulas and pivot tables
  • exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability toidentifytrends, variances, and potential risks within complex financial data
  • asolid understanding of not-for-profit financial reporting standards
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in explaining financial concepts clearly to nonfinance audiences
  • ademonstrated ability to analyze and streamline financial processes for improved efficiency
  • experienceworking collaboratively, prioritizing, and balancing multiple competing tasks effectively
  • theability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • theability to be respectful, approachable,and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • experience with SAP Concur and/or Sage 300
  • working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote
