A Snapshot of Your Day

Our steadily growing High-Voltage Substation group based out of Raleigh, NC (USA) is looking for a highly driven, self‑motivated, and solution-oriented Commercial Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful financial controlling and reporting of construction projects. You will work together with our technical project management organization with the main objective of executing the projects according to our contractual obligations, project management, and financial reporting standards.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Assume full responsibility for all project-related financial matters, including accounting, legal, tax, and foreign currency topics throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and optimize project financial performance, including monthly forecasting of revenue, profit margin, and cash flow, while ensuring accurate revenue recognition and contractual invoicing.
  • Prepare and maintain commercial project documentation and reporting, ensuring accuracy of project financial data during execution and for regular project status reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS 15, local GAAP requirements, reporting guidelines, and internal controls, while maintaining accurate cost calculations, pricing, and project financial records in systems such as SAP and iTWO PM Imp@ct.
  • Support the Project Manager in risk and opportunity management, contract interpretation, negotiating changes with customers or vendors, minimizing non-conformance costs, and ensuring proper management of guarantees, bonds, and project securities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, including implementing lessons learned, supporting more accurate tender calculations through early project involvement, and collaborating with Procurement and other stakeholders to ensure proper contract flow-down conditions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related financial field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a similar financial project or commercial project role; project management certification (e.g., PMP or IPMA) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to read, interpret, and apply contractual terms and regulations; experience supporting construction projects is considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and financial analysis, combined with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, willingness to travel (~5%), and professional working proficiency in English.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

This job is based in Ontario, Canada. Siemens Energy offers a variety of benefits including health and wellness, paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position is $85, 000 - $125, 000 annually.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Ce que vous apporterez à l’entreprise

  • Assumer l’entière responsabilité de toutes les questions financières liées au projet, y compris la comptabilité, les affaires juridiques et fiscales, et les devises étrangères tout au long du cycle de vie du projet.
  • Gérer et optimiser les performances financières du projet, notamment les prévisions mensuelles des revenus, la marge bénéficiaire et le flux de trésorerie, tout en veillant à l’exactitude de la comptabilisation des produits et à la facturation contractuelle.
  • Préparer et tenir à jour les documents et les rapports liés aux projets commerciaux, en veillant à l’exactitude des données financières des projets pendant leur exécution et à la réalisation d’examens réguliers de l’état d’avancement des projets.
  • Assurer la conformité avec la norme IFRS 15, les exigences des PCGR locaux, les directives de production de rapports et des contrôles internes, tout en assurant l’exactitude des calculs de coûts, de l’établissement des prix et des dossiers financiers des projets dans des systèmes tels que SAP et iTWO PM Imp@ct.
  • Soutenir le gestionnaire de projet dans la gestion des risques et des occasions, l’interprétation des contrats, la négociation des modifications avec les clients ou les fournisseurs et la réduction des coûts de non-conformité, et assurer la gestion adéquate des garanties, des obligations et des titres du projet.
  • Favoriser l’amélioration continue et le partage des connaissances, y compris en mettant en œuvre les leçons retenues, en permettant une plus grande exactitude des calculs liés aux d’appels d’offres, en participant rapidement aux projets, et en collaborant avec le service des Achats et les autres intervenants afin d’assurer une répartition appropriée des exigences liées aux contrats.

Ce dont vous avez besoin

  • Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en finance, en administration des affaires, en comptabilité ou dans un domaine connexe
  • Au moins 3 années d’expérience professionnelle au sein d’un poste de gestion de projets financiers ou commerciaux similaire; certification en gestion de projets (p. ex. PMP ou IPMA), un atout
  • Bonne compréhension des PCGR et des IFRS, et capacité à lire, à interpréter et à appliquer les modalités et les règlements liés aux contrats; expérience en soutien de projets de construction, un atout
  • Maîtrise de SAP, de Microsoft Office et de l’analyse financière, associée à de solides compétences analytiques et à la capacité de gérer plusieurs priorités tout en respectant les délais
  • Motivation, souci du détail, esprit d’équipe, excellentes habiletés en communication, approche proactive, disposition à voyager (environ 5 % du temps) et maîtrise de l’anglais à un niveau professionnel
  • Les candidats doivent être légalement autorisés à travailler aux États-Unis, sans qu’une autorisation de travail avec parrainage par l’employeur soit requise dans l’immédiat ou dans l’avenir.
