Job description

About KOHO

We’re on a mission to make financial services better for every Canadian. That means no hidden fees, no predatory interest rates - just financial products designed to help our users spend smart, save more, and build real wealth. We’re a performance organization with a strong heart: we care deeply about outcomes, and everything ties back to our mission - to financially empower a generation of Canadians.

At KOHO, we’re not your average 9-5. We believe real impact comes from people who are trusted, empowered, and supported to do their best work - without sacrificing their lives to do it. We prioritize work-life integration, not just work-life balance. That means asynchronous collaboration, flexible hours, and a remote-first setup built around autonomy and high trust.

KOHO is entering its next chapter - leaner, smarter, more AI-integrated. We’re building for impact, not bureaucracy. If you thrive in environments that value clarity, ownership, and bold thinking, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Regulatory Reporting Manager to join our team for a role to work remotely based in Canada.

Reporting to the Director, Financial Accounting & Reporting, you’re going to be a part of a team building a bank-grade finance function for KOHO Bank, with finance expected to produce accurate, timely, controlled financial and regulatory information that can stand up to audit and regulator review.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll be building and operationalizing KOHO Bank’s finance regulatory reporting and controls framework, taking the function from launch readiness into steady-state reporting across OSFI and Bank of Canada requirements.

  • You’ll be owning the preparation, review, reconciliation, and submission of key regulatory returns, ensuring outputs are timely, accurate, well-documented, and fully traceable to the general ledger and underlying source systems, while also supporting the accounting and controllership team through month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting tie-outs as needed.

  • You’ll be partnering across Finance, Credit Risk, Treasury, Data, and Operations to close data gaps, strengthen source-to-report lineage, and design scalable processes and controls that are defensible under audit and regulator review.

  • You’ll be helping shape a high-impact function at a pivotal moment for KOHO Bank, where the work is foundational to our operating model and highly visible across finance leadership, auditors, and regulators.

Who You Are

  • CPA designated with 6+ years of progressive experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, controllership, or audit within banking or other regulated financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and IFRS, with the ability to reconcile reporting outputs back to the GL and financial statements.

  • Experience building or improving reporting processes, controls, and documentation in a fast-moving or evolving environment.

  • Highly proficient in Excel and financial systems, with strong attention to detail and comfort working through data, reconciliations, and reporting dependencies.

  • Clear, hands-on communicator who can coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, challenge gaps, and drive deadlines with rigor.

  • Gritty, proactive, and adaptable operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, gets things done, and can coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, challenge gaps, and drive deadlines with rigor.

The budgeted salary range for this role is $125,000 - 140,000 CAD / year.

At KOHO, we are dedicated to providing pay transparency to all candidates. Compensation at KOHO is determined through various factors including but not limited to: comparable salary market data within Canada, technical skill assessment, a holistic view of previous work history, and internal pay equity with other KOHO team members.

Description de poste en français

KOHO is for builders.

If you’re energized by challenge, motivated by mission, and want to be part of a team that punches above its weight - we want to hear from you.

The KOHO culture is one of collaboration, creativity, and diverse perspectives. We are committed to building and fostering an inclusive, accessible environment for everyone.
