Position Summary
Project Manager
North York General Hospital is looking for an experienced Project Manager to support implementation of initiatives and program improvements during a maternity leave. The successful candidate will be actively engaged in the implementation of various initiatives of the hospital. The position involves supporting the implementation of initiatives related to a grant funded project focused on improving mental health and addiction care at the hospital and together with partner organizations. The position also supports a number of programs and initiatives under Home First and community transitions and include NYG@home, NYCares, NY CAST and SCOPE. You will foster innovation and creativity in response to the changing situation and needs of the initiatives you support, and the communities we care for. With these skills, you will be a part of shaping tomorrow’s healthcare today.
This position supports both Connected Care and Specialized Excellence, key pillars of NYGH’s strategic plan. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.
On a practical level, you will
• Ensure project deliverables and outcomes are met on time, within budget and within scope
• Lead the tracking of metrics to support project objectives
• Support the teams in their development of annual workplans that align with program deliverables and funding expectations.
• Support the planning and facilitation of meetings and events
• Conduct background research to support projects and strategic priorities, as required
• Develop content for periodic reporting to Ontario Health/Ministry of Health
• Assist in the preparation of grant applications and other applications or proposals for funding
• Perform other related duties as required from time to time
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in Health Administration, Health Sciences or related field combined with a minimum of four (4) years’ of experience supporting health system or health policy projects
• Project Management training or certification considered an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to communicate data extracted from various systems to internal and external partners
• Strong relationship management and community engagement skills
