Job description
We are seeking two (2) detail-oriented Wealth Operations Officers to join a collaborative, high-performing 15-person team during a peak processing season. In this non-client-facing, back-office role, you will be responsible for processing specialized financial transactions—including securities and high-risk cash movements—within a highly regulated environment.

If you have a background in banking operations, a high level of accuracy, and a solid understanding of investment products, this is an exceptional opportunity to gain exposure and build a career with one of Canada’s top financial institutions.

Job Type: Full-Time Contract (4 Months with potential extension or conversion)
Location: Toronto, ON (Downtown)
Work Model: On-site (5 days/week for the first 90 days; hybrid eligibility thereafter)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Overtime availability required)
Pay Rate: $31.66 / hour

Advantages
Growth Opportunities: High possibility of contract extension or conversion to a permanent role based on business needs and performance.
Comprehensive Onboarding: Enjoy 4 weeks of structured, supportive training with hands-on guidance from dedicated senior team members.
Networking: Gain valuable exposure and build relationships across multiple divisions within a leading financial institution.
Collaborative Culture: Join a supportive, team-oriented work environment with regular team engagement and daily check-ins.

Responsibilities
Transaction Processing: Execute accurate daily money movements, securities transfers, and client account updates in adherence to strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Data Verification & Documentation: Thoroughly review and validate transaction documentation, security pricing, and client holdings across multiple internal software applications.
Reporting & Spreadsheet Management: Run daily Microsoft Excel spreadsheets utilizing existing macros to process transaction data efficiently.
Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate professionally with internal partners (financial advisors) and external entities (mutual fund companies, other financial institutions) to resolve transaction discrepancies.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Maintain strict adherence to internal regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) frameworks, Bank Code of Conduct, and confidentiality guidelines.
Process Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and suggest practical solutions to enhance workflow quality and productivity.

Qualifications
Education: Undergraduate degree or post-secondary college diploma preferred.
Experience: 1–4 years of experience in banking, wealth operations, financial transaction processing, or a related back-office financial environment.
Product Knowledge: Basic to intermediate understanding of investment products, including stocks, mutual funds, and securities.
Technical Skills: Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (must be comfortable navigating and running existing macros). Comfort utilizing multiple internal systems concurrently.
Attention to Detail: Proven track record of high precision and zero-error execution in compliance-heavy, high-risk environments.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective internal and external stakeholder interaction.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
Previous experience in wealth operations or securities transfers within a major Canadian bank.

Critical Success Factors
Ability to stay focused and maintain extreme accuracy while executing repetitive, multi-step processes under seasonal volume deadlines.
High degree of personal accountability and a solid understanding of the financial/compliance impacts of processing errors.
Strong team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
