Our client, is seeking a talented and delivery-focused Software Developer IV - Java to join their core application engineering team.

In this senior technical role, you will be responsible for developing, hosting, and maintaining web-enabled, database-driven enterprise applications. Operating within a Scaled Agile framework, you will tackle complex system issues, design quality solutions, and ensure maximum application availability. Working inside a collaborative pod structure, you will actively participate in backlog refinement, code reviews, and cross-team alignment to satisfy critical project objectives and client requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced full-stack Java engineer who brings deep backend experience with Advanced Java, Spring Boot, and Azure cloud-native technology, combined with solid frontend capabilities in Angular and MS SQL database design.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Initially 2 days per week on-site, with a planned transition to 4 days per week on-site eventually)

Responsibilities
Full-Stack Software Engineering
Enterprise Application Development: Write, test, debug, and maintain clean, reliable, and secure code for web-enabled and database-driven applications using Advanced Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.

Cloud-Native Solutions: Design and deploy scalable, high-availability services within the Microsoft Azure environment.

Database & Data Management: Engineer and optimize queries and data structures utilizing MS SQL Server and relational database concepts.

Architectural Design Patterns: Apply robust software design patterns to ensure high performance, code reusability, and maintainability across application modules.

SDLC, Governance & Collaboration
Agile Pod Participation: Operate in a Scaled Agile cadence, actively contributing to backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and cross-pod collaboration.

Quality Assurance & Code Reviews: Conduct rigorous peer code reviews, enforce strict coding standards, and construct software in compliance with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Prepare required design, testing, and deployment documentation for the project repository to ensure smooth knowledge transfer upon contract completion.

Version Control & Incident Support: Manage repositories using GitHub and Jira, and participate in periodic after-hours on-call support rotations as required.



Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 7+ years of progressive professional experience in software engineering, specializing in enterprise Java application development.

Core Technical Stack (7+ Years): Expert-level command of Advanced Java, Spring Boot, and frontend development with Angular.

Cloud & Database Proficiency (7+ Years): Proven experience building and deploying Azure cloud-native applications alongside strong MS SQL Server database design and SQL querying skills.

Agile & Pipeline Tooling (7+ Years): Hands-on experience managing project workflows, task backlogs, and code repositories using Jira and GitHub.

Coding Design Patterns (5+ Years): Solid experience applying object-oriented software design patterns and clean architecture principles.

Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; highly organized with acute attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Foundational understanding of enterprise Cloud Architecture principles.

Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).

Previous professional software engineering experience within the Banking or Financial Services domain.

Familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms, specifically Apache Kafka.
