About The Role

Procurement is investing in best‑in‑class tools, processes, and capabilities to elevate global performance. At the centre of this ambition is the Procurement Centre of Excellence (COE), the performance engine that will drive progress across the function. The Global Lead, Digital Procurement will play a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life.

Acting as the architect and owner of the Global Digital Procurement Strategy and Roadmap, the Global Lead, Digital Procurement ensures that our technology ecosystem, data foundation, and global processes are optimized, integrated, and delivering value across regions.

Reporting to the Director, Global Procurement COE, the Global Lead, Digital Procurement partners closely with the Global Procurement Leadership Team (GPLT), Digital Technology (IT), and regional procurement teams to embed harmonised digital processes, strengthen data foundations, and drive adoption of digital tools. The role leads change and innovation by working with stakeholders to select, implement, and adopt technology that supports McCain’s objectives, improves ways of working, and delivers measurable value.

The role also advances Procurement’s AI agenda by identifying practical AI and automation opportunities, supporting responsible adoption, and enabling teams to use emerging technologies to reduce tactical work and improve decision‑making.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Digital Procurement Strategy & Roadmap
    • Own and execute against the Global Digital Procurement Strategy and Roadmap, balancing near‑term priorities with the longer‑term ambitions.
    • Develop business cases for future‑focused technology investments, quantifying the value opportunity and prioritising initiatives for delivery.
    • Benchmark digital best practices and bring cutting‑edge capabilities to Procurement through market research, industry consultation, and exploration of emerging procurement intelligence and automation tools.
    • Integrate AI and intelligent automation into the digital roadmap by identifying, prioritising, and governing practical use cases that improve automation, decision support, process intelligence, and alignment with McCain’s enterprise AI strategy.
  • Source to Pay (S2P) Platform Ownership & Architecture
    • Oversee the global S2P solution architecture, ensuring it aligns with functional priorities in partnership with Digital Technology (IT).
    • Lead COE team members responsible for managing the S2P platform, ensuring service delivery meets Procurement’s expectations across end‑user support, supplier enablement, and integration between core procurement and finance platforms.
  • Data, Insights & Spend Model Ownership
    • Own the Procurement global spend data model, including governance, structure, and cleansing, encompassing the build of the Global Spend Cube in partnership with Digital Technology (IT).
    • Partner with the Global Sr Lead, Procurement Performance to ensure data integrity to support KPI reporting, insights, and value realisation, resolving data quality issues across source systems to improve consistency and completeness.
  • Procurement Engagement & Leadership
    • Champion digital capability‑building, training, and user adoption across regions, ensuring digital training is linked to the broader Procurement capability roadmap.
    • Contribute to the overall COE change roadmap by helping sequence initiatives and clarify their impact on affected teams.
    • Develop clear, targeted communications that support stakeholder alignment, change adoption, and consistent understanding of digital procurement priorities across regions.
    • Lead and develop a high‑performing team, setting clear priorities and coaching team members to grow their digital, data, and AI capabilities.
    • Foster an inclusive team culture that encourages curiosity, smart risk‑taking, and knowledge sharing across the COE and regional teams.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • Degree in a related field e.g. Business, Engineering, Economics.
  • 6+ years’ experience in Procurement and/or Digital Transformation.
  • Strong expertise in leading S2P suites, Coupa strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing and delivering digital roadmaps and transformation initiatives.
  • Fluency in data analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Databricks.
  • Certifications such as CIPS, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or Prosci are assets.
  • Procurement expertise: strong knowledge of Procurement and Source to Pay best practices.
  • Digital and AI fluency: able to assess and implement S2P solutions, analytics, LLMs, and automation to deliver business value.
  • Executive influence: communicates credibly with senior leaders and aligns stakeholders.
  • Global programme leadership: proven ability to deliver complex, cross‑regional transformation programmes.
  • Team building and change leadership: builds high‑performing teams and drives adoption of new tools and ways of working.

About The Team

  • Based in North America, with a preference for Toronto as Procurement’s largest regional hub.
  • Part of the newly formed Procurement Centre of Excellence (COE) leadership team.
  • Reports to the Director, Global Procurement COE.
  • Leads a small, specialised team focused on digital procurement capabilities.
  • Collaborates closely with the Global Procurement Leadership Team (GPLT), regional procurement leads, Finance, and Digital Technology (IT) partners.
