  • Identify data governance risks, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen how data is managed, protected, and used.
  • Provide expertise on data lifecycle management, classification, retention, access governance, metadata, and information architecture.
  • Contribute to data governance monitoring, assurance, reporting, and remediation activities
  • Monitor emerging technologies, platform capabilities, and regulatory developments to strengthen governance controls.
  • Partner with business, technology, security, privacy, AI, and records management teams to deliver trusted data and information outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, controls, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Experience translating business, policy, or regulatory requirements into operational processes and platform controls.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 platforms and governance controls, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and Microsoft Purview
  • Deep knowledge of information architecture concepts, including metadata, taxonomy, classification, retention, and content organization.
  • Experience assessing controls, identifying risks, and recommending practical remediation actions.
  • Ability to work across business and technical teams and communicate complex concepts in clear, business-friendly language.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing standards, guidance, procedures, or governance frameworks.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and effectively manage competing priorities in a complex environment.

It would be great for you to have some of these nice-to-haves as well:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information/ Data Management, Data & Analytics, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Library and Information Science, Technology Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications from recognized industry associations (e.g. DCAM, DAMA, IAPP, ARMA, or AIIM)
  • Knowledge of Collibra, Informatica, AvePoint, ServiceNow, and/or similar governance and compliance platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, and AI readiness practices.
  • Experience supporting data governance initiatives within large, complex organizations.
  • Working knowledge of privacy regulations, records management requirements, and data security principles.
