Jr. Back-End Developer (Contract)

Build secure scalable backend solutions while helping leading financial institutions strengthen their technology platforms and accelerate vulnerability remediation initiatives.

The Role

Capco is seeking an Junior Backend Developer (Contract - 6 months) to support a major Financial Services client in delivering vulnerability remediation initiatives across critical applications and platforms. This role combines hands-on backend engineering with cross-functional collaboration helping delivery teams implement test and validate remediation activities that strengthen application security and platform resilience.

You will work across development testing DevOps troubleshooting and production support activities while collaborating closely with engineering teams security stakeholders and business partners to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

What Youll Do

• Design develop and maintain backend services usingJava and Spring Bootwithin enterprise-scale applications.
• Support vulnerability remediation and application modernization initiatives across critical technology platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders engineers and delivery teams to gather requirements and implement effective solutions.
• Participate in code deployment testing troubleshooting and production support activities across the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to Agile delivery teams ensuring high-quality secure and resilient technology solutions.

What Were Looking For

• 2 years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing and supporting backend services APIs and distributed applications.
• Understanding of deployment pipelines CI/CD processes testing practices and release management.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Bonus Points For

• Experience within Financial Services Banking Capital Markets or Payments environments.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management application security or secure software development practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with OpenShift Kubernetes Docker or containerized environments.
• Exposure to integration technologies messaging frameworks or event-driven architectures.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is listed below. Additionally this position may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary/variable bonus payment.
