Job Description:
This position is for a 12-month contract.
Reporting to theSenior DirectorSLCAccounting and ControlstheSenior Associateserves as a member of the SLC Finance team andis responsibleforsupporting thelegal entity accountingreportingand controlprocesses includingdata inputs into SLCs Management Equity Plan (MEP).In addition the role supportsthemonthly and quarterlyaccountingandreportingcloseprocesses as well assupport variousSLC initiatives. It also provides exposure to various aspects of finance such as accounting reporting and analytics.The ideal candidate willbe a self-driven individualwho takes ownership and pridein their workhave an inquiring mindset with a passion forworking withnew technologyand processesandability to navigate through ambiguity.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Co-ordinate and completevariousaspects of themonthly and quarterly finance functionsincluding the accounting close chart of value requestsreconciliationsreportingand analytics.
Support SLC projects and initiatives through the preparation and posting of journal entries in SAP ensuring balances areaccurateand aligned with reporting and accounting requirements.
Assistin the preparation of legal entity financial statements performing detailed analytical reviews and investigating variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support compliance and regulatory reporting requirements includingexcess minimum capital calculationsand participation fees.
Support audits by coordinating deliverables preparing audit samples and liaising with internal stakeholders to address auditor requests.
Collaborate with various SLC teams to operationalize new processes including process documentation.
Identifyand implement process efficiencies including the use of automation.
Establish andmaintainrobust governance and financial controls.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelors degree with experience infinance orreporting relatedfunctions (5-7years) combined with afinance background.
Professional accounting designation (CPA CA CMA CGA) will be strongly preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability tosummarizedetailedinformationto relevant stakeholders.
Self-starterwithability todrive progress andexecute on assigned deliverables.
Strong problem solvingandtime management skills.
Keenattention to detail with an inquiring mindsetto strive for process efficiencies and improvements.
Abilityto build andmaintainstrong relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Strong experience with the effective use of financial reporting systems and tools.Experience with SAP preferred.
Ability tooperatein an environment experiencing rapid change and work under pressure to meet demanding response times while paying strict attention to detail.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office tools including Excel PowerPoint and Word; Experience withPower BIand/or Tableau will be an asset.
Experience with working at a Financial Institution especially in the Asset Management space will bea valuable asset.
