Role Overview

Medcan is seeking an AI Technical Specialist to support the design development implementation and ongoing optimization of AI solutions across the organization. This role combines technical expertise with business understanding to help deliver secure scalable and responsible AI solutions that improve client experience clinical operations and business efficiency.

What Youll Do

AI Solution Development & Delivery

Support the design configuration and implementation of AI solutions including Generative AI machine learning automation and conversational AI use cases

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and clinical requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Develop prototypes proof-of-concepts and pilot solutions to validate business value

Work with implementation teams to deploy solutions into production environments

AI Operations & Monitoring

Monitor AI solutions to ensure reliability performance and user adoption

Track system performance model effectiveness and operational metrics

Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement

Support testing validation and release management activities

Governance Security & Responsible AI

Ensure AI solutions comply with Medcans privacy security and Responsible AI requirements

Support AI risk assessments documentation and governance reviews

Stakeholder Support & Adoption

Provide technical guidance and support to business and clinical teams

Assist with change management and user adoption activities

Communicate solution capabilities limitations and risks to non-technical audiences

What Youll Need

2 - 5 years of experience in technology data AI analytics or software development roles

Experience implementing or supporting AI machine learning Generative AI or Agentic AI solutions

Experience working with APIs enterprise applications and system integrations.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including ML Engineers Data Solutions Leads and Integration Engineers.

Technical Skills Must Have

Understanding of agentic AI machine learning Generative AI and large language models (LLMs)

Familiarity with Azure AI Services Azure OpenAI Microsoft Copilot or similar AI platforms

Experience with Python SQL REST APIs and data integration concepts and data processing tools (Pandas SQL Spark)

Develop documentation training materials and technical knowledge resources

Familiarity with MLOps model monitoring and AI lifecycle management concepts

This is a full-time hybrid position (2 days in office) working 40 hours per week based on business needs between regular office hours Monday Friday (9 AM - 5.30 PM). Our downtown Toronto location is conveniently located at 150 York St. which is near St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station!

Position Pay Range

$82543.00 - $113495.50 CAD annually

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidates experience and qualifications within the roles compensation grade. Medcans compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills market value and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks benefits and potential bonuses or incentives.
