This role is based in our Distribution Center in Edmonton, AB, and reports to the DC Manager.

Job Summary

The Distribution Centre Shipper is responsible for assisting in the operation of a fast-paced, high volume distribution center in a shipping office environment.

The successful candidate will become a vital part of a professional distribution team and effectively assist in continually meeting the changing demands of our industry and our customers.

The Shipper position will work in collaboration with other departments; customer service, inventory deployment, manufacturing plants, and logistics & transportation.

Principal Responsibilities

Use our operating system based software (Infoflo & TMS) to manage the incoming and outgoing orders and transfers.

Assign (dispatch) the daily workload for the DC employees according to the existing service and quality standards defined by IPEX.

Complete all associated shipping and customs documents for LTL, truckload, pick ups & courier shipments, ensuring on-time shipping.

Work in collaboration with the Customer Service & Logistics teams to ensure customer needs are met and issues with orders / transfers are addressed in a timely basis.

Control cycle count processes and performing physical counts as needed.

Provide direction to the hourly DC staff and will function as the acting DCC in their absence.

Work directly with drivers & customers and represent the company with courteous professionalism.

Assist in customer complaint investigations and processes.

Evenly distribute workloads through dispatch process to maintain a positive level of picker activity.

Organize and file all paperwork daily to ensure ease of access.

Complete select monthly reports.

Required Skills / Qualifications

Completion of a high school diploma

2+ years’ prior experience in distribution, logistics and / or customer service office environment

Excellent written & verbal skills

Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and professional atmosphere which requires constant adjustment of priorities and workloads

Experience in a RF environment would be an asset

Successful candidate must complete a CTPAT background check
