Key Responsibilities:
- Leading, mentoring, and managing the care team to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Overseeing the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Monitoring care practices and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards
- Promoting a culture of safety, empathy, and respect
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, families, and external partners
- Driving quality improvement initiatives and contributing to organizational growth
- Managing staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations for care team members
- Acting as a key point of contact for residents, clients, and their families regarding care matters
Core Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) Status: Must be currently registered with an Ontario Registered Nurse License
- Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN). Additional certifications in Nursing Administration or related fields are an asset
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years as a Director of Care in a long-term care setting; proven experience in nursing management, including supervisory and financial reporting
- Knowledge of Relevant Legislation and Practice:
- Resident care planning and delivery
- Quality improvement initiatives
- Staff training and development
- Budgeting and resource management
- Compliance and regulatory reporting
