Title – Business Analyst, Accounts Payable
Duration – 3 + Months contract
Hybrid – 3 days onsite per month
Location – Toronto, ON
Pay rate - 38/hr - $ 45/hr
Top requirement –
- Strong Analytical Experience in Finance/Account (eg. Procurement, Accounts Payable
- Excellent Verbal Communication Skill in order to prepare SOPs (i.e., Standard Operating Procedures) and training material.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA, Ariba & Fiori is strongly preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP, Access/Database Tools, and intermediate knowledge of Word, Adobe, and Outlook.
• Strong technical, financial, and analytical expertise.
• Positive, self-directed, and highly accountable professional with the ability to deliver complex financial analysis.
Responsibilities
• Support the AP Manager in ensuring timely processing of Accounts Payable transactions by measuring performance, volume, and quality of processing.
• Ensure corporate policies, procedures, internal controls, and BPS Procurement Guidelines are followed institution-wide.
• Mentor and coach Accounts Payable Clerks on duties, objectives, performance standards, and process improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation, and maturation of Accounts Payable functions to align with industry best practices.
• Act as SAP Super User, Master Data Coordinator, and primary liaison with Plexxus on AP system-related matters.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors and external stakeholders through proactive engagement.
• Support the AP Manager with the day-to-day management of the Accounts Payable department.
• Prepare weekly payables for approval and payment, including cash flow forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entry approvals and quarterly/annual reporting requirements.
• Act as the Finance lead during internal and external audits by coordinating supporting documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Perform monthly reviews and analysis of sub-ledger and general ledger reconciliations and aging reports.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies through staff follow-up and corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures, operational standards, and desk procedures.
• Create and maintain KPI metrics, reporting dashboards, and analytics for Senior Leadership.
• Research systems, technologies, and best practices to recommend ongoing process improvements.
• Develop and recommend policy proposals that strengthen internal controls and minimize financial process risks.
• Support the strategic direction of Finance Integration and Transformation initiatives related to Accounts Payable.
• Assist with AP project prioritization, resource allocation, and implementation activities.
• Identify and resolve workflow challenges while facilitating stakeholder buy-in for process changes.
• Collaborate with department leaders to understand business requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings to address roadblocks and ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Support strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under Senior Management guidance.
• Partner with Procurement, Receiving, Clinical, and IT teams to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.
