Travel to Office expectations
For Remote Roles: If this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.
For Hybrid Roles: If this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. This will include, but not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly events in the office with your specific team. This is a requirement for this role.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Commercial Financial Planning & Analysis, the Director, Commercial FP&A will own two of the highest-priority pillars in PCC's commercial finance agenda: Commercial Deal Operational Excellence and Contribution Margin Expansion. This is a senior leadership role with direct executive exposure — partnering with GTM, Revenue Operations, Corporate Strategy, and Partnerships leadership to shape the commercial decisions that drive ARR growth and contribution margin performance. The ideal candidate is a commercially-minded finance leader who has built and led high-performing teams, owned complex cross-functional mandates, and is ready to pioneer the AI transformation of a best-in-class Commercial FP&A function.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Finance Leadership
Direct mandate over two core pillars in Commercial FP&A: (i) Commercial Deal Operational Excellence and (ii) Contribution Margin Expansion
Serve as a thought partner to the Sr. Director in shaping the broader Commercial FP&A agenda, contributing perspective on ARR growth strategies and Contribution Margin opportunities beyond direct pillars of ownership
Drive significant transformation with AI, revamping the top Commercial FP&A processes to improve speed, provide advice to the business, agility in understanding scenarios, and expand team scope
Partner with Corporate FP&A to harmonize and drive best practices in overlapping areas such as costs management and forecasting
Commercial Deal Operational Excellence
Partner with GTM Leadership to evolve DealDesk governance that is shared between Finance and Revenue Operations
Partner with Revenue Operations to set the strategic vision and governance model for the DealDesk function, including standards for deal quality and performance metrics
Advise on promotional programs or concession frameworks
Define performance metrics and accountability structures for commercial deal health
Collaborate with Monetization Strategy and Pricing to operationalize pricing objectives
Partner with Partnerships and Corporate Strategy in negotiating terms of new Strategic Partnerships or Marketplace partners
Measure the financial health of existing Partnerships and advise on levers to drive Contribution Margin expansion
Contribution Margin Expansion
Own the financial partnership with GTM leadership to allocate investments with discipline to maximize Contribution Margin while sustaining ARR momentum
Drive best practices in resource allocation and investments; create efficiency metrics and conduct scenario planning
Capac ity planning to support headcount aligned to growth objectives
Advise on commission program design & governance and on resource allocation decisions such as marketing channel mix
Manage GTM partners to maintain accurate forecasts on headcount and discretionary spend
Drive scenario planning and stress-testing across time horizons, quantifying upside and downside outcomes
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Lead a team of FP&A professionals with a clear vision and high performance expectations
Develop and sustain a high-performing team through coaching, performance management, and succession planning
Required Skills & Experience:
10–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or equivalent roles; a minimum of 5 years in a technology or SaaS business is a strict requirement
Meaningful experience across commercial topics (e.g., deal structure, contracting, pricing) and with GTM functions is a strict requirement
Experience with meaningful AI transformation in finance workflows is highly desirable
Ability to influence and communicate complex financial topics to executive and C-suite audiences, including investor-facing contexts
Deep financial modelling expertise, including deal structuring, scenario analysis, and contribution margin frameworks in a SaaS context
Track record of delivering measurable commercial outcomes in a high-growth environment
Advanced understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, Rule of 40) and financial accounting practices
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree or CPA/CFA an asset
$162,000 - $180,000 a year
At PointClickCare, base salary is one component of our total rewards package. The Canada base salary range for this position is $162,000 - $180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits, non-overtime eligible. Our salary ranges reflect the target for new hire salaries across Canada locations. Individual compensation is determined by skills, experience, and location.
