Position Overview:

Zynga is looking for a Senior UI Designer. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the look and feel of the UI for our new casual mobile game.

The User Interface Artist supports Product UX and Art in authoring innovative visual solutions to create visually compelling aesthetically consistent and effective user interface design that promotes ease of use. They unite artistic vision with the user journey by transforming conceptual layouts into refined high-fidelity interfaces including HUDs iconography and navigational elements.

What Youll Do:

Art Creation

• Create UI design/layouts

• Create high-fidelity mock-ups for pre-visualization during pre-production

• Develop mood boards and help guide the visual design of features

• Collaborate with the art team to define/adhere to a thematic art style

• Integrate functional animations for user interactions into design

• Prepare assets for implementation in the game engine

Cross Discipline Collaboration

• Collaborate with UX Leadership to ensure designs meet best-in-class player experiences

• Partner with Production on defining time estimates and surfacing risks

• Work closely with technical artists and engineers to ensure implemented UI meets technical requirements while meeting established quality standards

Contribute to Craft

• Set examples guides and templates for UI

• Participate in company-wide UI community events critiques product reviews and feature retrospectives

• Participate in critiques product reviews and retrospectives

• Collaborate with UI staff from other game teams to share findings and develop standard methodologies across the organization

What You Bring:

General

• 5 years of experience in the game development industry specializing in UI Art and Visual Design having worked on 3 different game titles

• Passion for the casual mobile game space with applicable portfolio examples demonstrating a wide range of work and high level of polish

• Expert level in Adobe CC

• Experience applying user testing and genre research into design decisions

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently

• Demonstrates proactive self-development and interest in leveling up personal interpersonal and craft skills

• Be organized and demonstrate good digital hygiene and adhere to established naming conventions and organizational standard methodologies.

Communications

• Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to co-work and connect with multiple studio locations teams and partners

• Able to collaborate with proactive communication and a willingness to build consensus with potentially opposing perspectives.

UI Design Expertise

• A mastery in classic graphic design principles

• An accomplished designer in user interface layout design hierarchy color theory and information architecture

• Experienced in adapting and adhering to an established visual style and building upon it

• Highly polished final UI components that meet if not exceed market expectations

• Highly skilled with standard creative software such as the Adobe Creative Suite

• Experienced in UI layout & design tools (Figma or similar tools)

• Familiarity with collaborative virtual environments (Miro FigJam)

Bonus Points:

• Engine Familiarity: Experience authoring and directly implementing user interfaces in Unity

• UX Experience: Maintain UI library and Design System in Figma able to present alternative UX solutions to improve user experience.

• Motion Design: Design UI animations as part of the final UI vision

The pay range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $75700 and $112060 CAD per Year.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100200 and $148320 USD per Year.

However base pay offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates such as job-related knowledge skills experience and other objective business considerations.

Subject to those same considerations the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
