Job description

Who we are

At Rocky, we feel our best in nature and we feel our best when we nurture ourselves with nature. That's why for over 25 years we've been students of this glorious Earth — formulating everyday essentials that nurture your skin, body, and hair, all crafted with care here in the Canadian Rockies.

Our 14 locations nationwide are designed to bring nature indoors. Crafted from natural materials, they guide customers through immersive sensorial experiences anchored by our signature sink — unique to each location.

Growing our culture-focused team means finding those who share the belief that we are a part in the greater ecosystem, working together to make a positive impact in our communities and for the Earth.

Are you a natural fit for the new world of Rocky?

The position

The Assortment Manager oversees our existing core product assortment to drive growth through a strategic blend of market research analysis, data mining, and merchandising. Partnering closely with Marketing, Demand Planning, and Product Development, the Assortment Manager analyzes the product assortment performance to identify key SKUs to grow year over year and drive customer adoption.

This is a temporary, full-time position working Monday through Friday in either a hybrid capacity from our workshop in Canmore, Alberta, or fully remote (Alberta-based candidates preferred). The target start date for this role is May 2026.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the 300+ skus, defining opportunities for growth and discontinuations
  • Design and implement long term strategies for core assortment to drive long term growth
  • Analyze product mix, cannibalization, and white space opportunities
  • Responsible for delivering annual revenue and margin targets per product category
  • Research and analyze market trends, competitors and consumer behaviour
  • Define our pricing strategy and product position in the market
  • Partner with Planning and Production to define the merchandise targets, COGS, margins and inventory
  • Partner closely with Marketing on the promotional calendar
  • Create a reporting framework to empower teams with information to drive the business forward on a weekly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Compile and present regularly to the business summarizing the performance of the core assortment

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; MBA considered an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in retail or CPG environment
  • Strong assortment planning and product analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking and planning
  • Innovative problem-solver with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information
  • Proven track record of leading across teams and working with cross-functional partners
  • Passion for natural personal care and beauty products
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau would be considered an asset
  • Strong communication and data presentation skills

What's in it for you?

  • Significant product discounts and quarterly allowances
  • Share in Rocky’s success - The Great Game profit sharing program
  • Generous paid annual vacation and personal days
  • Healthy lifestyle support through an annual allowance
  • Access to a dedicated Rocky coach to help you optimize your potential
  • The opportunity to participate in culture club organized activities

Application

  • We're accepting applications for the Assortment Manager position until a suitable candidate is found.
  • Eligibility: candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
