L’opportunité :
Le spécialiste SSE soutient les programmes de santé, sécurité et environnement (SSE) au sein des opérations de Sunoco dans la région Est du Canada. Le titulaire du poste travaille en collaboration avec les équipes de soutien régionales, les gestionnaires de sites, les employés syndiqués et les comités de santé et de sécurité afin d’assurer la conformité réglementaire, une gestion efficace des incidents et l’amélioration continue de la performance en matière de sécurité. Une présence régulière sur le terrain est requise.
Responsabilités :
  • Assurer la conformité aux exigences réglementaires fédérales, provinciales et municipales en matière de santé, sécurité et environnement.
  • Soutenir les inspections réglementaires, les audits, la production de rapports et les interactions avec les agences.
  • Mettre en œuvre et faire respecter les programmes, politiques et procédures SSE.
  • Diriger ou soutenir les enquêtes sur les incidents, les analyses des causes fondamentales et la mise en place de mesures correctives.
  • Soutenir les programmes d’intervention d’urgence, notamment en cas de déversement ou de blessure.
  • Collaborer avec les représentants syndicaux et les comités de santé et de sécurité afin de promouvoir des pratiques de travail sécuritaires.

Qualifications et compétences:
  • Diplôme d’études collégiales ou universitaires en santé et sécurité au travail, sciences de l’environnement, génie ou dans un domaine connexe. Une combinaison équivalente de formation et d’expérience pourra être considérée.
  • De 2 à 5 années d’expérience en santé, sécurité et environnement dans les secteurs pétrolier, des pipelines, des terminaux ou de l’industrie chimique.
  • Expérience dans un environnement industriel syndiqué et multisite, un atout.
  • Bonne connaissance des réglementations relatives à la gestion des déchets, aux eaux usées, aux eaux pluviales, aux émissions atmosphériques et à la santé et sécurité.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication, en enquête et en organisation.
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office.
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, à l’oral comme à l’écrit.
  • Capacité de voyager aux États-Unis pour des réunions d’affaires.
  • Titre de CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) ou démarche active en vue de son obtention, un atout.
  • Certification valide en secourisme et en RCR, un atout.

Environnement de travail :
  • Poste sur site combinant travail de bureau et présence sur le terrain.
  • Travail dans des environnements industriels nécessitant le port d’équipement de protection individuelle (ÉPI).
  • Disponibilité occasionnelle en dehors des heures normales de travail ou lors d’interventions d’urgence.
  • Le lieu de travail n’est pas limité à Montréal ou à Québec et sera déterminé en fonction du candidat retenu.

The Opportunity:

The HES Specialist supports Health, Environment & Safety programs across Sunoco’s Canadian East Region operations. This role works closely with regional support, site leadership, unionized employees, and Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs) to ensure regulatory compliance, effective incident response, and continuous improvement in safety performance. A strong on‑site presence is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian federal, provincial, and local HES regulations
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, reporting, and agency interactions
  • Implement and enforce HES programs, policies, and procedures
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Support emergency response programs, including spills and injuries
  • Partner with union leadership and JHSCs to promote safe work practices

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (experience may be considered in lieu)

  • 2-5 years of HES experience in the petroleum, pipeline, terminal, or chemical process industry

  • Experience in unionized, multi‑site industrial environments preferred

  • Practical working knowledge of waste, wastewater, stormwater, air, and safety regulations

  • Strong communication, investigation, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • English and French proficiency required

  • Ability to travel to the U.S. for business meetings

  • CRSP designation or actively pursuing preferred

  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification preferred

Work Environment:
  • On‑site role requiring office and field work
  • Industrial environments with PPE requirements
  • Occasional after-hours or emergency response support
  • Worksite location is not limited to Montreal or Quebec City, QC, Canada, but will be determined based on best candidate.

Frequent travel is required in this role.
