With over 19 years of industry experience we provide professional landscaping property maintenance and snow removal services to commercial and residential properties. Position Summary

The Crew Leader (Fleet & Field Operation) is responsible for overseeing fleet maintenance operations supervising field crews and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of landscaping and snow removal services. This position combines mechanical expertise preventative fleet management liquid de-icing system operation and seasonal field supervision. The role requires year-round operational oversight and a 24/7 on-call commitment during the winter season.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Year-Round Responsibilities

  • Ensure all company vehicles heavy equipment and attachments are maintained in safe working condition and ready for dispatch.
  • Troubleshoot diagnose and repair mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and electrical systems on equipment including (but not limited to): sidewalk tractors wheel loaders skid steers front-end loaders e-bikes trailers trucks snowplows sweepers and snow blowers.
  • Inspect and test vehicles and equipment using mechanical and electronic diagnostic tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Coordinate third-party warranty and specialized repairs and verify quality upon completion.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and maintain detailed inspection and service records.
  • Maintain attachments and tools (blades buckets forks brooms spreaders) to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures to ensure unsafe equipment is not operated.
  • Maintain an organized yard and shop including inventory control and parts management.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement of parts and materials.
  • Perform custom fabrication including welding wiring plumbing and equipment modifications.
  • Assist with evaluation and recommendation of new and used fleet purchases.
  • Conduct repairs related to equipment and property damage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshop yard and service vehicles.
  • Receive unload and organize deliveries including salt soil and aggregates.
  • Pick up parts materials and equipment as required

Summer Responsibilities (Landscape Operations)

  • Supervise and lead a crew of up to three (3) employees.
  • Installing sod plants soil aggregates and mulch
  • Weeding cultivating and maintaining garden beds
  • Lawn cutting and trimming
  • Pruning hedges shrubs and small trees
  • Applying fertilizers and plant health treatments
  • Participating in team meetings and safety initiatives
  • Spring and fall property cleanups
  • Performing basic maintenance and cleaning of tools equipment and company facilities
  • Assisting with other landscape tasks as needed


Winter Responsibilities (Snow Operations)

  • Supervise and lead a crew of up to three (3) employees during snow and ice control operations.
  • Operate heavy equipment including:
    • Front-end loaders
    • Skid steers
    • Sidewalk tractors with salt spreaders
    • Snowplows and salt spreaders
  • Liquid Brine & De-Icing System Operations
    • Operate and maintain liquid anti-icing and de-icing systems.
    • Manufacture liquid brine solutions to required salinity concentrations using refractometers or salinity meters.
    • Maintain and service brine production systems including pumps manifolds valves plumbing lines storage tanks and Variable Speed Injection (VSI) tank systems.
    • Calibrate liquid and granular spreaders to ensure accurate application rates.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electric and hydraulic liquid application systems.
    • Load transport and deliver brine safely in compliance with Ontario road safety and environmental regulations.
    • Maintain production logs calibration records and maintenance documentation for brine systems.
    • Follow environmental best practices for salt and liquid material handling and storage.
  • General Winter Duties
    • Clear snow from designated areas safely and efficiently.
    • Apply salt or alternative de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup.
    • Inspect and maintain equipment before and after each shift.
    • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
    • Respond promptly to snow and ice events including overnight weekend and holiday shifts as required.

This role requires a 24/7 on-call commitment from November 1 through April 30 to respond to snow and ice events emergency equipment repairs site inspections salt replenishment and equipment servicing between storms.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar fleet maintenance and/or landscape supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining:
    • Kubota B2650/LX2610 or equivalent
    • CAT 906M or equivalent
    • Isuzu NRR diesel trucks or equivalent
    • Ford series trucks
    • Metal Pless snowplows
    • SnowEx plows
    • Boss Snow Rator
    • Western salter systems
    • Electric and hydraulic liquid and granular de-icing systems
  • Strong mechanical knowledge including preventative maintenance and small engine repair.
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems diagnostics and repair.
  • Experience operating and maintaining liquid brine production and delivery systems.
  • Knowledge of soil preparation plant installation pruning and plant health care practices.
  • Ability to read and follow landscape installation specifications where required.
  • Valid Ontario Class G drivers license or higher.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting bending kneeling and prolonged standing.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
  • Availability to be on-call 24/7 between November 1 and April 30 for winter operations and emergency repairs.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Wage: $36.00 per hour
