Job description

Who We Are:

Every transaction matters. Every Canadian matters. At Interac, we protect both — driving trust, security, and inclusion, so our digital economy thrives.

Founded in 1984, Interac connects Canadians through secure digital payments, advanced identity verification and industry-leading fraud protection. Connecting banks, businesses, and individuals, Interac enables millions to send, receive, and manage money safely and effortlessly every day — across both digital and physical environments.

As the backbone of Canada’s financial ecosystem, Interac facilitates over 20 million transactions daily, supported by trusted partnerships with government and financial institutions. Consistently ranked as Canada’s most reputable financial technology brand, Interac is deeply embedded in the daily lives of Canadians.

Who You Will Work With:

The vacant Leader, Quality Engineering, Governance & Enablement role will report to the Head, Delivery Excellence and will operate as a senior technology leader within the Delivery Excellence organization. You will act as the enterprise authority for Quality Engineering, Certification, and Production Readiness, working collaboratively to ensure that Agile Ways of Working and the Enterprise Delivery Framework are applied consistently, pragmatically, and at scale across the technology organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Establish and own enterprise‑wide Quality Engineering, Certification, and Production Readiness standards

  • Act as the authoritative voice on release readiness, quality health, and change risk

  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of standards across products and platforms

Enterprise Delivery Framework

  • Translate Agile Ways of Working principles into clear, enforceable quality and testing practices

  • Embed quality, automation, and readiness expectations into the Enterprise Delivery Framework

  • Define and govern entry and exit criteria for build, test, certification, and release stages

  • Ensure teams can move fast without increasing operational or regulatory risk

Quality Engineering Strategy & Enablement

  • Develop and execute a multi‑year Quality Engineering strategy and roadmap aligned to enterprise priorities

  • Lead the evolution of continuous testing and automation frameworks

  • Drive adoption of shift‑left, automation‑first quality practices

  • Standardize tools, patterns, and methodologies to improve efficiency and consistency

Certification, Readiness & Risk Discipline

  • Own the technology certification lifecycle and production readiness model

  • Establish and maintain change risk scoring and readiness assessment standards

  • Reduce defect leakage, post‑release incidents, and late‑stage surprises

  • Ensure release decisions are supported by evidence, data, and clear accountability

Metrics, Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and govern quality, readiness, and automation KPIs

  • Use delivery data and post‑release insights to drive systemic improvement

  • Partner with Delivery Performance and Architecture leaders to address recurring quality and stability issues

  • Shift the organization from subjective assessments to outcome‑based quality measures

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineering, Automation, Certification, and Readiness leaders

  • Coach teams to think beyond testing towards engineering quality by design

  • Foster strong collaboration across Product, Engineering, Platform, and Operations

  • Champion a culture of standards, transparency, learning, and continuous improvement

What You Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or related technology leadership roles

  • Deep experience operating within Agile and DevOps environments at scale

  • Proven track record establishing enterprise standards, governance models, and delivery disciplines

  • Strong systems‑thinking mindset focused on improving end‑to‑end delivery outcomes Leadership & Mindset

  • Comfortable operating as a technology authority through influence and credibility, not control

  • Data‑driven, outcome‑oriented, and improvement‑focused

  • Strong communicator able to align executives, delivery teams, and partners

  • Passionate about building durable delivery systems, not hero‑dependent execution

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
