Analytical Scientist - Future roles (Canada)

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform all activities related to processing and analyzing biological samples.
  • Document activities related to sample analysis and assist in verifying various documents.
  • Initiate analysis runs using the appropriate instruments and software.
  • Follow up on result analysis and assist in finding solutions to bioanalytical issues.
  • Assist in eliminating the chemical and biological waste generated by laboratory employees and help clean laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Perform support tasks to meet the needs of laboratory users.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Operating Guidelines, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or College Degree in Science.
  • Must demonstrate good computer skills especially in the utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel and analytical software.
  • Basic understanding of the requirements of analytical chemistry.
  • English level (Quebec specific); required bilingualism includes understanding simple messages and following basic instructions.
  • Relative alternative certification may be considered acceptable.

Summary

The Analytical Scientist I is responsible for supporting routine sample analysis while becoming familiar with established procedures and SOPs in the laboratory.
