Job Details

Position Title: Associate Vice-President, Enrolment Management & Registrar

Status: Full-time Admin

Hours: 37.5hours per week

Faculty/Department: Office of the Registrar

Campus/Location: North Campus; occasional travel to Lakeshore Campus

Minimum Starting Salary: $191,723; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.

About the AVP, Enrolment Management & Registrar Role

Humber Polytechnic is growing faster than almost any institution in Ontario, and the Office of the Registrar is at the centre of that momentum. This is a rare opportunity to lead enrolment management and registrarial services at scale, shaping the experience of tens of thousands of applicants and students at one of the province's largest and fastest-growing polytechnics.

Reporting to the Vice-President and Chief Digital and Enrolment Officer, the AVP, Enrolment Management and Registrar advances enrolment strategy, policy development, and service innovation. The AVPprovides strategic leadership and operational oversight for enrolment management and the Office of the Registrar, with direct influence over how Humber attracts, admits, and supports students from first inquiry through graduation.

The AVP championsapplicant and student experience, ensuring consistency, fairness, and integrity across processes connected to Humber's academic faculties.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Enrolment Management

Develop and implement evidence-based enrolment strategies and plans, using institutional data and market intelligence to meet strategic, financial, and student success objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships across academic faculties, Student Services, Institutional Research, Marketing, Recruitment, Information Technology Services, and Finance to advance shared recruitment, enrolment, and retention goals.

Partner with academic leadership to inform program development, suspension, growth, and renewal decisions.

Office of the Registrar Leadership

Provide leadership and management direction for a modern, responsive Office of the Registrar, encompassing admissions, financial aid, student systems, academic records, scheduling, the Humber contact centre , and convocation.

Lead the strategic administration and continuous improvement of student information systems and related technologies, championing digital transformation initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.

Policy, Compliance, and Risk

Lead the development of policies and processes that support student success, enrolment management, regulatory compliance, and academic and administrative priorities.

Oversee academic appeals and related legal matters in partnership with academic and risk management colleagues.

People and Team Leadership

Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment across the Office of the Registrar.

Lead change management activities as service models, systems, and processes evolve, supporting staff through transitions and assessing impacts on teams.

Build workforce and resourcing plans that align staffing levels and skill sets with enrolment priorities and service demands.

Recruit, develop, and motivate a large, multi-functional team across the division.

Establish clear performance objectives for direct reports, removing barriers and supporting their achievement.

Address personnel matters fairly, consistently, and in a timely manner, in accordance within institutional policy and any applicable collective agreements.

Provide mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities that strengthen leadership capacity and team effectiveness across the division.

Relationships and Representation

Act as a connector across the institution, aligning enrolment strategy with academic and administrative priorities through committee and council participation.

Represent Humber on registrarial and enrolment matters with provincial and national sector bodies, peer institutions, and government partners.

Stay ahead of emerging trends in enrolment policy, student demographics, labour-market demands, technology, and regulation affecting enrolment and registrarial services.

Education

A Master's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience and Skills

A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in enrolment management, registrarial services, or student services within a postsecondary environment, including significant experience in a unionized setting.

Deep understanding of the Ontario postsecondary landscape and emerging issues in higher education at the provincial and national level.

Strong knowledge of applicable legislation, including employment, labour relations, privacy (FIPPA), and human rights frameworks.

Expertise sponsoring digital and systems strategies in collaboration with Information Technology Services, including oversight of the Student Information System and related enterprise technologies.

Demonstrated leadership in advancing equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion in a postsecondary context.

Demonstrated strength in strategic planning, team building, and change management, with the ability to build consensus and influence outcomes across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

Well-developed judgment and risk management capability, with the ability to respond to complex, sensitive, or high-impact situations.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders with clarity and represent the institution externally.
