Role Description
The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, of the Human Resource (HR) function and the ensure the HR departments ongoing support of dozens of venues, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, succession planning, operations people optimization and retention.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity;
- Responsible for the Occupational Health & Safety for 2000+ employees; including preventative initiatives
- Training and professional development of the Managers, venue staff, and corporate team
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management in a mix of centralized recruitment responsibilities and de-centralized hiring.
- Handles discipline and expertise in termination of employees in accordance with Employment Standards.
- Oversees the continuously changing daily workflow of the HR department.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource payroll system.
- Responsible for 6 payrolls and acts as an expert adviser to 17 other payrolls.
- Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance provincial employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Facilitates the HR Function during the new venue openings.
- Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree/College Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- At least five years of human resource management experience required – preferably in Hospitality
- CHRL highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
