Job description

The opportunity

Our Financial Services Office is a unique, industry-focused practice, and our Capital Markets consulting practice is a critical part of our global offering. We help the world’s largest financial institutions navigate the continuous evolution of Capital Markets. More than ever, our clients, top banks, market infrastructure providers, trade associations, and regulators, look to us for trusted advice on every engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the Capital Markets sector in addressing their most pressing challenges, including AI, digital assets, regulatory change, risk and compliance complexities, improving ROE, and enabling large-scale operating model and technology transformations. If you are passionate about driving strategic impact and shaping the future of Capital Markets, join us to lead transformative change at scale.

This job posting relates to an existing vacancy within our organization.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager in Capital Markets, you will play a critical leadership role in expanding and elevating our Capital Markets practice. You will own the vision for the future of Capital Markets, spearheading business development initiatives such as thought leadership creation, high-impact client proposals, and strategic go-to-market campaigns. You will be responsible for cultivating and expanding a robust network across the Capital Markets sector, generating significant new business opportunities, and delivering innovative, client-centric solutions to complex challenges.

You will lead multiple workstreams and large-scale projects, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets. As a senior representative of EY, you will build and sustain trusted relationships with C-suite and senior client stakeholders, providing strategic insights and connecting them to EY’s comprehensive service offerings. You will inspire, mentor, and develop diverse teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning, while embedding deep Capital Markets expertise and awareness of emerging trends such as digital assets and regulatory technology.

You will champion a professional environment that differentiates EY from competitors, supports the growth of future leaders, and strengthens EY’s position as a market leader in Capital Markets advisory.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with deep expertise in Capital Markets trade flows (front, middle, back office), risk management, digital assets, data, technology, regulatory compliance, market infrastructure, and Capital Markets products.
  • Proven track record of proactively identifying and capitalizing on client opportunities through insightful questioning and innovative thinking.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and executive-level storytelling skills to articulate complex concepts and strategic assessments clearly and persuasively.
  • Visionary and innovative leader who thrives on driving change, embracing emerging technologies, and challenging the status quo.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently on short notice to meet client and business needs globally.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing high-performing, diverse teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes and foster talent growth.
  • Strong relationship builder with a broad network within the Capital Markets industry, EY’s global community, and key external stakeholders.
  • Intellectual curiosity and up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, including digital assets, RegTech, risk and compliance innovations, and large-scale transformation methodologies.

To Qualify for the Role You Must Have

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the Capital Markets industry, ideally gained through a top-tier consultancy, specialist financial services consultancy, or within a leading bank or market infrastructure provider.
  • Demonstrated expertise in front-to-back Capital Markets operations and their evolving relationship with technology, such as automation and AI-driven processes, digital assets and regulatory technology (RegTech), reflecting the major trends shaping the industry in Capital Markets transformation.
  • Proven experience managing and leading complex, multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale projects with strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced executive communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging C-suite and senior stakeholders.
  • Tech-savviness and a strong willingness to learn, adopt, and apply relevant tools and software to enhance client service and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership, teamwork, and client service skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in advisory roles within financial services.
  • Availability and flexibility to travel extensively within and outside of Canada and to work beyond standard hours when necessary.

Ideally, you’ll also

  • A self-starting attitude, an ability to think outside the box and thrive on new challenges
