Position Summary The LiDAR Data Processing Specialist will be responsible for post-processing airborne and terrestrial LiDAR data, generating digital models and maps, and preparing accurate, client-ready CAD outputs. This role requires advanced proficiency in 3D data processing, geospatial software, and a comprehensive understanding of LiDAR workflows from collection to final deliverable. Key Responsibilities - Process and classify raw LiDAR point cloud data (e.g., ground, vegetation, structures) - Generate Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), Digital Terrain Models (DTMs), and contours - Convert raw LiDAR data into CAD formats (e.g., DWG, DXF, Civil 3D) - Ensure accuracy, quality control, and consistency of data products - Collaborate with drone operators, survey teams, and GIS/CAD drafters - Manage large datasets and maintain organized digital workflows - Produce technical documentation and metadata as needed Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in LiDAR data processing or a related geospatial role - Proficiency in software such as DJI Terra, Global Mapper, TerraScan, CloudCompare, ReCap, Civil 3D, AutoCAD - Strong understanding of coordinate systems, georeferencing, and elevation modeling - Experience integrating LiDAR data with CAD and GIS platforms - Ability to work independently and manage complex projects - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills - Experience with drone-based LiDAR systems - Familiarity with automation or machine learning in LiDAR workflows - Knowledge of land surveying practices and standards We are an equal opportunity employer committed to employment equity utilizing hiring practices on merit and business needs.
