Executive Director
Salary: $66,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week), primarily in-person
Location: Kitchener
Reports to: Board of Directors (via Board Chair)
Position Overview
The Executive Director (ED) provides strategic, operational, and spiritual leadership for The Pregnancy Centre (TPC). Guided by the Board of Directors, the ED leads organizational strategy implementation and oversees operations and programming, with a primary focus on fundraising and donor relations, communications and public relations, financial stewardship, administration and compliance, and staff/volunteer leadership. Considering the scope of TPC’s activities, the ED is charged with enabling and equipping others for ministry while modelling TPC’s core values.
Functions & Duties
- Provide overall leadership to implement Board-directed strategy, priorities, and policies for TPC.
- Partner with the Board and staff to advance TPC’s mission and vision through planning, resourcing, and evaluation of results.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and programming to ensure effective, mission-aligned client services.
- Lead and support paid staff and volunteers through communication, coaching, performance management, and training.
- Provide fundraising leadership: set annual targets; develop and execute multi-channel fundraising (events, church partnerships, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, grants).
- Cultivate and steward key relationships with donors, churches, community partners, and other stakeholders; represent TPC publicly as needed.
- Oversee communications and public relations, including messaging, outreach, and media responses, in alignment with TPC’s mandate and values.
- Ensure strong financial stewardship, including budgeting with the Treasurer, financial reporting, and timely payment of organizational expenses.
- Ensure operational policies, donor records/receipting, and required organizational reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain accountability to the Board through regular reporting, participation in Board/AGM meetings, and preparation of annual ministry reporting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in a not-for-profit, ministry, or mission-driven organization, with responsibility for operations and people leadership.
- A related Bachelors degree (Masters would be considered an asset.)
- Demonstrated fundraising capability, including strategy development, donor stewardship, major gifts, sponsorships, and grant/foundation engagement.
- Strong relationship-building skills with donors, churches, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills (written, public speaking, and interpersonal), including comfort representing an organization publicly and with media.
- Financial management competence, including budgeting, financial reporting, and responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including policy compliance and oversight of required reporting.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics, evaluate results, and drive continuous improvement in fundraising and operational effectiveness.
- Ability to encourage, and develop staff and volunteers through coaching, training, and clear expectations.
- Alignment with TPC’s mission and values, with the ability to provide spiritual leadership and model core values in a ministry context.
Local travel is required. Access to reliable transportation is needed.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a successful vulnerable sector police check and financial check.
