Job description

We are looking for a highly creative and hands-on Content Creator / Video Producer to support large-scale retail marketing campaigns across well-known Canadian retail brands. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced creative environments and enjoys owning the full content lifecycle — from concept development and shoot planning through production, editing, and final delivery.


This is a freelance-style contract opportunity with a variety of ongoing campaign, promotional, and social media projects throughout the year. Weekly promotional and seasonal campaign work will be a major focus, including high-volume retail and holiday content initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal Creative Managers, marketing stakeholders, and production teams to deliver engaging photo and video content across multiple digital platforms.


Key Responsibilities

Creative Concepting & Content Development

  • Generate original creative concepts and visual storytelling ideas aligned to campaign and brand objectives
  • Translate creative briefs into compelling photo and video content for digital and social channels
  • Develop mood boards, treatment decks, storyboards, shot lists, and production plans
  • Stay current on industry, retail, and social media trends to bring fresh creative ideas forward
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative planning discussions

Photo & Video Production

  • Capture high-quality photography and video content for campaigns, promotions, events, and social media
  • Execute shoots independently or collaboratively with internal teams
  • Manage technical setup including lighting, framing, camera operation, and audio
  • Direct on-screen talent and subjects when required
  • Travel to various GTA retail/store locations and occasional studio shoots in Mississauga

Editing & Post-Production

  • Edit polished, engaging video content with strong storytelling and pacing
  • Create motion graphics, transitions, overlays, titles, and supporting visual elements
  • Perform light photo retouching, colour correction, and video grading
  • Adapt content into multiple formats and cutdowns for various platforms including Meta (Instagram/Facebook), YouTube, web, and paid media
  • Ensure all assets align with brand standards and platform specifications

Content Management & Collaboration

  • Organize and manage raw footage, project files, and final assets
  • Deliver content within deadlines while balancing multiple concurrent projects
  • Collaborate closely with creative managers, designers, producers, and internal stakeholders
  • Incorporate feedback effectively while maintaining creative quality and integrity
  • Support additional creators, freelancers, and production partners when needed

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in content creation, video production, or creative production roles
  • Strong hands-on experience shooting and editing both photo and video content
  • Experience creating content for large enterprise or recognizable consumer brands/retail organizations
  • Strong portfolio showcasing campaign, promotional, social, and branded content work
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Experience with creative and project collaboration tools such as Figma, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or similar
  • Strong understanding of social-first content creation and platform optimization
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience supporting retail, lifestyle, or consumer-focused brands
  • Motion graphics and animation experience
  • Experience working in fast-paced agency or in-house creative environments
  • Access to a vehicle for GTA travel (travel expenses reimbursed)

Additional Details

  • Contract/Freelance-style opportunity
  • Flexible hours based on project needs (not a fixed 40-hour work week)
  • Equipment provided (laptop and iPhone)
  • Hybrid work environment with occasional GTA travel to retail/store locations and studio shoots
  • Portfolio required as part of the interview process
  • Interview process: 1–3 rounds with Creative Managers
  • Target start date: May/June
