Job description
About Us Our vision at Diabetes Canada is a world free from the effects of diabetes. That’s why we work together to improve the lives of those living with diabetes – sharing knowledge and resources, supporting health-care professionals to improve patient care, advocating for change through policy, and funding research to advance treatments and discover a cure. Living with diabetes is a complex and often relentless journey, testing the resilience of every individual affected. Diabetes Canada is here to help—providing tools, resources, and support to make that journey easier. Join us in leading with strength and compassion - so no one faces diabetes alone. About the Role We’re seeking a Digital and Direct Response Specialist who will be supporting the national Donor Response Marketing (DRM) program by executing and supporting multi-channel, single-gift donor, acquisition and engagement campaigns through direct mail, phone, email, online and paid digital channels. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Annual Giving and works closely with the Manager, Digital Fundraising, and a wide range of internal colleagues and external vendors to oversee all tactical aspects of direct response initiatives, including campaign delivery and operations, asset editing and approvals, stakeholder and vendor communications, and Donor Response Marketing program support. Location: Diabetes Canada’s national office is at 1000–170 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. We offer a flexible work arrangement, allowing employees to work remotely, with the expectation of working onsite once per week, and additional in-office attendance as required by their manager or the organization. Compensation: The hiring salary range for this role is $75,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on skills and experience with meeting the requirements of the role. What You’ll Do Develop and manage campaign critical paths, managing key deliverables and coordinating internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and partners, to ensure the successful, and timely delivery of single- and multi-channel campaigns and donor engagement initiatives. Lead internal campaign kick-off meetings with Diabetes Canada’s (DC) cross functional stakeholder group and coordinate internal and external reviews and approvals of campaign data, copy and creative. Act as the primary day-to-day contact for external vendors while campaigns are in-market, managing daily communications, including campaign questions and support, providing feedback and reporting, and escalating concerns as needed to DRM team campaign leads. Provide campaign implementation support, working with DRM team campaign leads to coordinate and activate campaign operational support processes with cross-departmental stakeholders and external vendors. Provide campaign data management support, including reviews of data segments and splits, and campaign results tracking. Manage all internal DRM edits and approvals with cross-departmental stakeholders during asset development for all channels, including mail, email and media. Provide day-to-day budget management support for the DRM team, including coordinating invoice payments with Finance, maintaining and updating team budget tracking tools, and supporting monthly team expense reviews. Manage all internal DRM team communications regarding ongoing direct response campaigns to cross-departmental stakeholders. Maintain and update results reporting and archive dated reports for future reference and analysis. Support the Senior Manager, Annual Giving with donor service support, including fulfilling premium mailing requests, recording donor survey responses and implementing new fulfillment structures with external gift processing vendor as needed. Maintain and update team hard and soft copy files and the DRM SharePoint site to ensure robust and accurate historical record of all campaign and program activities. Conduct competitor analysis and sector best practice research to support special projects and the development of new initiatives, as identified by Senior Manager, Annual Giving. Note: This role is not limited to the responsibilities listed above and may include other duties as required. What You Bring Post-secondary diploma or university degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 3 - 5 years of experience in direct response fundraising; experience working within a large national charity is an asset. Experience working with external fundraising agencies and vendors. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with exceptional communication and multi-tasking skills; able to manage multiple priorities while ensuring timely project delivery. Collaborative, adaptable and personable; excels at building strong relationships and is comfortable working with stakeholders at a variety of levels. Proactive and solution-oriented with a can-do attitude, comfortable taking initiative and working independently as a key member of a high-performing team. Strong computer skills, with high level of comfort working in MS Office, Teams and SharePoint. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other CRM software is an asset. Experience with industry online fundraising platforms (Fundraise Up, MailChimp, etc.) is an asset. Why Join Us? Diabetes Canada is a national organization with an entrepreneurial spirit, where your contributions are valued, recognized, and rewarded. This role is a great opportunity to support meaningful work that positively impacts the lives of Canadians living with diabetes. You’ll join a team that values collaboration, learning, and purpose-driven work, while contributing to initiatives that support research, advocacy, and community programs across the country. What We Offer: Impactful Work Environment: Join a high-performing, collaborative team committed to building a healthy and engaged workplace culture.
