Our Management Consulting Practice is growing due to client demand across North America and Europe.

To support this and further growth we are hiring for an Operations Leader that will act as a Chief of Staff.

Based in our offices in George Street Toronto on a 5 day week basis the Head of Operations will support our President by playing a key role in leading driving and managing office and administrative efficiency to support our rapidly growing global organization. We have recently established our European office in Dublin.

This role is ideal for a detail orientated hands on leader reporting to our President and will sit across the operations and corporate services team. It will focus succinctly on executing various high-complex often volatile uncertain tasks and projects. The role will be counted on to see around corners and spot problems well before they happen and resolve issues proactively.

Duties:

Process Improvement

• Implement procedures and standards for all head office functions to optimize and clarify work expectations.
• Optimize cost speed service and quality of back-office functions and capabilities.

Major Meeting Execution:

• Own the Monthly Management Meeting Process and Cadence.
• Own the Quarterly Board Meeting Process and coordinate board-level presentations financial statements committee-related tasks and keep an up-to-date action log.
• Own the production of the Monthly Management Report ensuring its accuracy.
• Assist in preparing the annual Business Strategic Plan in July of each year.

Crisis Management and Risk Management

• Responsible for managing the execution of staff transitions any cyber incident responses security issues sensitive minor projects or business risks.
• Support the timely resolution of IT tickets and troubleshooting.

Major and Minor Project Management

Coordinate such entrepreneurial projects such as implementing a code of ethics technology integration projects charitable projects managerial data analysis marketing targeting and informatics data analysis high-risk background checks storage optimization business record auditing litigation support visas and work permitting preparation of high-ambiguity employment offer letters and other sensitive or high-risk documentation. Performs other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Required Skills and experience

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
• Professional management experience gained from an actual long-term military career is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years experience in a managerial capacity in any or combination of office administration back-office business or executive support e.g. Executive Administration.
• Experience with solving ultra-complex problems and executing minor and major projects with flawless results and minimal supervision.
• Experience managing staff workloads and delivery.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior numeracy skills.
• Experienced and proficient in using a variety of telecommunication platforms (i.e. conference calls video conferencing web meetings etc.).
• High level of accuracy ability to detect inconsistencies and errors.
• Strong organizational skills proven ability to effectively multitask.
• High degree of initiative ability to work independently and with the team.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
