Summary of Role: Business Administration Analyst
The Business Administration and Analyst role provides administrative, analytical, and coordination support to business operations, senior staff, and governance bodies. The role assists with data collection and reporting, supports process improvement initiatives, and provides governance administration for committees and the board of directors. This position works closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operations, accurate reporting, and effective governance practices.
Role Responsibilities:
Business Administration & Operational Support
- Provide administrative and operational support to day-to-day business activities
- Assist senior staff with scheduling, coordination, documentation, and follow-ups
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for management
- Support budgeting, expense tracking, and basic financial analysis
- Maintain records, files, and documentation in accordance with policies
Business Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, organize, and analyze business data to support decision-making
- Assist in preparing dashboards, summaries, and performance reports
- Support process mapping and documentation of workflows and procedures
- Help identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Assist with system updates, testing, and implementation support
Governance Administration
- Provide administrative support to boards, committees, and working groups
- Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, materials, and calendars
- Prepare and distribute meeting packages and briefing documents
- Record and track meeting minutes, decisions, and action items
- Maintain governance records and support compliance with governance practices.
- In addition, the role may be required to provide administrative, analytical or operational support to the Empire Club Foundation, as needed, in support of its business needs and strategic objectives. (The Empire Club Foundation supports charitable and educational initiatives aligned with the mission of the Empire Club of Canada)
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior staff
- Willingness to learn governance processes, business analysis tools, and organizational systems
- Diploma in Business Administration and entry level experience providing administrative and analytical support to senior staff and organization.
Compensation:
- This is a full-time 18-month contract position.
- Two weeks' vacation (per annum) and a comprehensive benefits package.
- ECC intends to consider fully, the opportunity of extending or transforming this role into a permanent full-time position
